Great video. Do you have extraction in your studio for soldering and melting?

Adriana, how do you manage the inside of the setting for future oxidation? Is it possible to polish inside? Or do you use Argentium silver? I know you can cast Argentium. Theres anither similar metal, I think it's made by Stuller... a low tarnish sterling. Over time, I've found that the insides of settings can get dark (oxidation) from normal use/wear. Dirt can be cleaned with an ultrasonic OF the stone can take ultrasonic. Your faceted stones are SO nice and bright and sparkly. Gorgeous (as usual)! 🌺 🌺 🌺 ps. What are those burs you are using to smooth and shape the settings? They look like diamond dental burs, but bigger (longer). Nice.

Hello from the UK. Wonderful video as always! Can I ask why the prongs are bent over to start with? Also what size graver do you use? I find the whole graver thing very complicated. I have cut my own hair for decades.
@MiteraMade6 ай бұрын
Thank you! 🥹 The prongs are bent over because when I made the prongs in wax my stone wax in the setting. I melted the prongs over the stone and then gently pushed the stone out of the setting without breaking the prongs. I hope that makes sense 🙏🏻🙈💜 As for the graver, it’s the 1.5” that came with the lion punch forge ☺️

What kind of ventilation do you use when burning out? Is that fan by the window enough for you? My wife wants to start casting in our closed off balcony not sure how to properly ventilate since our bedroom is right next door im a bit scared.
@knokeydv5 ай бұрын
I have a question about casting prongs. They were already bent before you began setting the stone. Did you have them bent over the stone while still a wax model? And if so, how did you get the stone out before burnout?
@MiteraMade5 ай бұрын
Yes, I do have them bent over the stone when it’s in the wax model! ☺️ when I’m ready to remove the stone, I gently push the stone from the bottom of the setting (usually with the back of any burr) and it just pops right out! It helps if you don’t push from the center of the stone but rather from one side or corner so you don’t put equal pressure on the prongs. If one breaks, I just put the stone back in, fix the prong and try again 💜
