probably the single most significant divergence between pedagogy in india and many other cultures is the opinion at 19.00 on the need to learn and understand the proof of the volume of a parallelepiped being the absolute value of the triple scalar product product of the three vectors that are the three dimensions. the beauty of linear algebra is understanding the reason behind an equation, approaching calculus based on proofs of its theorems

I didn't really appreciate the way this lecture is delivered.

Monosij Mondal If he says that scalar triple product is important in JEE perspective, he does NOT mean that it is useful only for JEE. Furthermore, be grateful for the initiative to provide free education. Don't be a critic, unless you can do something better. And.. I dont understand how the lecture is "substandard". Please be respectful.

I disagree. I find his understanding of the subject complete and his explanation as well I also find his information about right. I go through one of these various lectures each day while eating my lunch. A new one everyday. Most of the information I learned some 35 years ago as an undergrad. Even though I have learned these concepts long ago, it is good to refresh.

The point is, we have different opinions and I believe that's very natural. I think these tutorials are okay, but not at par with other MIT lectures that are universally considered to be the benchmarks of pedagogical styles. Nevertheless, I appreciate the hard effort. To me, a topic should be taught in such a way where the significance of a concept or idea is evolved with the discussion itself, not by mentioning how important that is for a specific exam. Let me rephrase my original comment. :D
