Mitsubishi Colt Starter Replace.

This video shows you how to replace the starter motor on a Mitsubishi Colt 2.8TDi 2004. My starter was not cranking as it should (Sounded like a dead battery) turned out to be te solinoid sticking. I'm not a mechanic but hopefully this can help someone else.

How did you remove the 14mm bolts? There is no space to get tools in there

Hi Clive It is very tight. What I did when removing the gearbox was take a socket extension,cut it in halve, and weld in a extension rod of your own. I ended up with about a 600mm socket extension. I could get to the bolts from way back. No need for spanners if you have that extension. Hope that helps!

Hi Mike. I ended up replacing the starter twice in the 3 years of owning the my Colt. Did replace it with pirate parts so was not very reliable. Cleaning did not help but some people do service and repair starters.

@@p0we111 thanks for the fast reply I think I have pushed my luck until the solenoid has finally gave out. Similar to a completely dead battery. I'm just gonna take it into the garage

@@MikeVaines I replaced my battery thinking it was that. 2 days later the starter stopped working again so it fooled me and I wasted some money. Replaced the starter and it was all good...

The negative cable from the battery is a weak point ,replaced after 20 years.
