This is still my dream car from way back when I saw it in The Fast and the Furious about 20 years ago. One of the first cars I can even remember seeing and it really stood out. The design is just so cool and 90's and timeless at the same time. This and the 3000GT are both my dream cars, just so 90's and cool looking.

4g63 if I'm not mistaken that was the baddest turbo motors back in the day. I was always an "all motor" guy with a b18c! Great memories I'll NEVER forget!

Back when fast and the furious came out, the eclipse gsx was my dream car, and then the evo came out that became my dream car. It definitely is still one I would like to own. It's weird. I went the opposite way and bought an 07 STi. I still love dsm, but it's hard to find them not beat to crap.

Fun lesser known fact - Eclipse 2g GS in Europe had N/A 4g63 instead of 420a , basically being gst without a turbo , even the chassis code is same as gst - D32 instead of D31

ive got an awd 1g laser and i love it, i blew a headgasket over a year ago and just drained the oil and coolant and oiled the cylinders to prevent it from seizing and its just sat. This video makes me want to get it running again. i doubt i even warped anything just need a new headgasket and maybe a sanding block lol.

I think a lot of the hate for the 2g non turbo guys came from the fact that back in the day the forums were flooded with people who couldn't afford a turbo dsm but wanted the speed and were asking how to make their cars as fast as the turbo cars. There's no problem with trying to make the non turbo faster, the problem is if you don't have the money to buy the turbo model over the non turbo back then, you didn't have enough money to make a non turbo as fast as a turbo. I know I got super burnt out on all the threads asking how to turbo a non turbo for way less money than what's possible. I think they deleted most of those threads so you won't see the true volume if you go back and look today, but it was pretty rampant.

I can see that happening as it still somewhat happens on the Facebook groups today. I don’t think it’s 2g specific though. Other platforms with the turbo variants have their owners that want fast and cheap in the same sentence

You can turbo any car it depends how far you willing to go with it and money to throw at it. You can make the non turbo 2G dsm fast but its not going to be as fast and efficient as a dsm that has a turbo in it. You're best cheap alternative for making the non turbo car to go fast is throw nitrous at it but then again you have to think about the other supporting mods like fuel pump, injectors, timing and etc.

A 2g gsx was an amazing starter car but yes, the commercials made it seem like it was for women, but really the gsx competed with rx7s, evos, stis, gtis, 240sx, 300zx, 3000gts and even supras. And it honestly looks way better than golf gtis, hondas or any other car its size. Especially a nice clean one but ppl had to rice them out lol

Friend of mine bought new 95 eagle turbo/awd auto and another friend had new 95 mustang gt 5 speed manuel 5.0 and eagle would walk away everytime from mustang but the U.P.S. guy had a 93 300zx twin turbo 5 speed and he beat us everytime in the eagle old 300zx 90-96 were very fast bsck then

I have my doubts the .... (sigh) ... "Cross" (no, it's not an Eclipse!) was featured anywhere at some auto show. In fact, since its release I've only seen ONE on the road. Uno. They just don't exist and I'm glad for that. It was a sacrilege. The company just gave us the middle finger while walking out a door to slam it shut. We long-time fans of the brand have been ignored since then. They're more focused on making air conditioners than real cars anyway. I'll keep my '99 running for as long as possible.

Yeah Mr. Miguel i was mad when Mitsubishi came out with a crossover and called it an eclipse. To me that's an insult you can't build a crossover or suv and then take a name from a well name sports car from the same manufacturer and then call it Eclipse that just stupid. Its just like what Ford did with the Mustang name they came out with an Suv and slapped the name Mustang on it which i really don't understand what they were thinking. I will not buy a Ford ever again because I own a 06 Ford Explorer or "Exploder" because of the amount of stupid engineering that was put into the motor and transmission. I know this first hand because of the numerous maintenance issues I went thru with it over the years since I own it and still own it till this day because it was passed down from my dad which he bought brand new from the Ford dealership at that time and he was the first owner on the vehicle. Other than stupid branding on the newer cars I still till this day won't buy a brand new car or any year over 2003. 2003 is the latest year I have which is 03 Hyundai Tiburon Gt. I also own a 1998 Eclipse GSt and the 2006 Ford Explorer 4.3L V6 XLS
