Doorways are rarely the perfect rectangles they appear to be. That's why new doors are always slightly larger than the opening into which they're installed. What if this is happening with my front door? The door is metal, so is it better to use a sander to remove the portion of the wood frame that is grinding against the door?

It's hard to say without seeing it, but you might be right. Most metal doors can't be shaped and you might be better served by sanding the frame. However, look at this short and see how I cut the frame in order to replace one piece. Hey, I've done that before, and that's why whenever I have to shape the top, I don't cut the door to length so that hopefully I'll have enough left to save it.
