You are definitely a “Ferrule freak”, but that’s one of the reasons your build quality is so good. Forced me to ask myself with each club I build, “Is this McGolf-quality ferrule work?”. Thanks for making me better!

From someone like myself who plays +1/2" over, those are some heavier than standard heads. I do my own building (and have for 15 years) and when I see a 6 iron weigh 263, I cringe knowing that I'm going to be fighting swingweight on my Modus 120 shafts.. I love when the 6 iron is 259'ish and 7g increments. In your experience are most Miura heads on the heavier side. I typically see American brand 6 irons living around 260/261. Thanks. Great video and thumbs up given.

I'm used to starting at the 5 iron for weights and typically I see 253 to 256 in weights. Doing 7 gram increments that would make the 6 iron 260 - 263g. That is typical for a set here. I believe Miura does that same. However you couls ask for lighter heads. They are very specific in their manufacturing.

which shaft will be the most similar to the Alta cb iron shaft regular flex graphite?

Great video! I'm so if you want a bit softer of a flex (1/3) you put an 8 in a 9 and cut it down?

Another great video, builder question I was cleaning out a hosel on a ping taper tip. Drill bit must have been low quality or cracked, didn't know but tip of drill bit broke off down (3/16's or so) down in the hostel. I tried some heat and Kroil but can't grip it to get jammed bit out. Everything I touch breaks, lol. Any suggestions to get it out thanks
@McGolf6 жыл бұрын
jteddy11 you might try an easy out. Drill a smaller hole in the drill bit then use the easy out to back it out.

I'd be interested in your feedback on those Adams hybrid heads. I bought the 2H,3H,and4H heads in the spring and had a local club builder put them on some UST Mamiya SmacWrap shafts. I felt this would be a great combination for distance and feel. When I took them to the range all I did was hook them horribly. As a right hander my miss with hybrids in basically a snap hook. When I set the clubs down in the address position however they look extremely closed. I usually have my grips as logo up, so they can be an alignment cue for my club face. The grips seem correct, but the face just points dead left for my eye. Is it possible the club builder was that asleep at the wheel and misaligned the heads that badly or are the heads built 'closed'? Thanks!

I would set the club on the ground without looking at the grip and see if it looks closed. If not then realigning the grip may be needed. Again if it does NOT look closed, grab the grip and take a swing. then you will know

Did the customer request all of these specs? How did he know what to ask for? Did you assist him in any of the choices of shaft, flex, length, etc?
@McGolf6 жыл бұрын
Jason Jarrett the customer asked for the specs. I am assuming he knew the spec as they were specific parameters. I did however question the hybrid spec. After a quick phone call all was smoothed out

How many sets of irons could you build in a day? Assuming you didn't have any interruptions or big problems with the clubs and worked a normal day....
@McGolf6 жыл бұрын
Allen Wilson my personal best is 4 full sets that including frequency, lofts and lies etc. it takes two day due to waiting on the epoxy to dry
