Followed Sachin’s career since I was 10 years old (1993) and witnessed his final test live at Mumbai in November 2013. I saw people around me crying as he walked back to the pavilion one last time. Never again can a cricketer evoke such an emotion. A once in a lifetime player.

He was a constant in our lives, as we grew up, grandparents departed one by one, left our towns for college, made friends in college, got jobs, got married etc. But as long as *he* was there, we could all believe nothing had really changed - grandparents were just in a different town, we could maybe still meet up with childhood friends and play like we used to, etc. When he retired, that glass wall finally shattered and the reality of our grown-up lives finally hit us.

Was always relieved to see Sachin out as an Aussie. Not because I didn't like him but because he was such a dangerous batsman. A great player one of the best I have seen. Footwork, timing and placement. Concentration as well. No weaknesses except maybe running between the wickets just a little bit... India were lucky to have such a legend.

Starc, boult, Dale steyn,James Anderson, kagiso rabada, southee, mahommad Amir...they are not less than McGrath and all other great bowlers...it's not that bowling is substandard it's virat's talent that he is breaking all the records very fast....if todays bowling is so substandard then I think there are many good batsman today but they are not doing excellent batting as like Kohli.... Nothing more beautiful than Sachin Tendulkar's straight drive. The backfoot punch to cover is a close 2nd . His technique was brilliant , the head remains still and he meets the ball with the full face of bat . I dare say there hasn't been a batsman from the subcontinent who plays on the rise deliveries better than Tendulkar. Prodigy at 16 to play for the national team , 50 Vs Wasim and Waqar in Pakistan , first century in England at 17 , another century in Australia at 18 years of age . Youngest to 1k runs, youngest to 2k runs in Test cricket. Fastest to 7k and 10k runs in Test cricket. Only to reach 15k runs in Test cricket. 51 test centuries . What a player !
