I remember trying to make a Mario Party-like game in Unity a while back, and it was a lot harder than I expected to create the board gameplay. I didn't use the splines package, as I wasn't aware of it. Instead, the way I went about building board navigation was simply giving each space object my board space script, which both determined which type of space it was (blue, red, happening, etc) and had a list of whichever space or spaces came next. Then, when the character was set to move, it would check the current space's list of following spaces, and, if the list only had a single entry, would move forward, and if it had multiple, would act as a junction. The movement would just linearly interpolate the character position from one space to the next and rotate the character to face the direction they were moving. The board gameplay, while simple from a player perspective, is a whole lot more complicated under the hood than most people think. My board spaces ended up having quite a few different properties to handle different situations, with each space type having both landing events and walkover events, a toggle for whether a space is a star space or not that's separate from the space type enum since star spaces can take the place of any other kind of space when the star isn't on them, and a space type for invisible spaces, which don't count towards the number spaces moved when a character walks over it, which I could use for creating smooth cuved paths and junctions. Ultimately, I never finished this project because I struggled with getting multiplayer working with Unity's "new" input system, and I'm much more of an artist than a programmer, so the complex and intricate systems I wrote became difficult for me to manage and understand as I got further along. I'm glad I tried it, though. It taught me a lot and gave me a lot more appreciation for the complexity of Mario Party's board gameplay.

You saved me here bro! On december I made a board like this as a prototype for my game, but in the place of the spine I used the Ai navmesh + the navmesh links, and oh boy, it taked to mush time to create just one board that I give up on the idea 😅, with the spines it looks like really easy to create a board.

There's a big downside to tying the space pads and movement directly to each knot on the splines. One alternative way would be to make the knots of one spline to determine a node structure for the spaces, and then one to determine the path the player travels between each knot. I guess your method would work if its possible to add knots that are essentially "null" knots.
