This review fits my perspective perfectly. I have a Ranger Raptor being built next month (finally). I actually test drove one elsewhere and was very pleasantly surprised. I am still on the fence if i will actually take delivery though since i would be coming down from a '23 F150 Raptor. Long story short what was easily affordable almost 2 years ago is not so much now. My Raptor now is my daily driver and the truck is my dream truck but the "everyday" aspect is something that is a hassle sometimes. Examples like needing at least 91 octane gasoline where the Ranger Raptor can take 87+ octane to simple things like being able to hit up a touchless car wash for a quick cleaning...can't do that in the F150 Raptor, ease of parking...some parking garages i can't fit in comfortably. Stuff like that. We'll see what happens but all in all glad i came across this review. Thanks

I hope it ends up working out for you! I know you wouldn't be the first who passes on a vehicle order because of the ridiculous price increases. This truck was a lot of fun to drive, I was quite impressed with it, and surprised by how much I ended up liking it.

I’ve always thought that a sunroof is a bad idea for a performance vehicle, primarily extra weight up high and safety if there’s a shunt. Having a sunroof on an off-road truck isn’t great because the forces transmitted into the body; serious shocks, particularly when the truck can jump; and those go right into the seals. That’s how one gets water dripping from the headliner. A sunroof on a Raptor seems a terrible idea imho.

Fair points for sure when it comes to the Raptor specifically! The Ranger doesn't have the option on any trim though, I think it's a missed opportunity.

I was thoroughly impressed with this one, I found myself looking for reasons to go out and drive which doesn't usually happen with gas guzzling vehicles.

A 4 door Ranger with a 6 foot bet would be great
@Bryan-jd7os3 ай бұрын
Yup, thats what everyone wants! Why wont they make it!? I just dont get it. Some say it would cut into F150 sales? Thats ridiculous, make the longbed already!
@PRNTestDrive3 ай бұрын
Everyone SAYS they want it, but when it comes to putting pen to paper, there's no buyers in sight. Case-in-point, when Nile worked on the retail side of the business last year he'd hear non-stop about how everyone wanted a single cab Silverado/Sierra, so once it came it the expectation was that truck would sell instantaneously. Over 14 months later I believe that truck is still sitting on the dealership lot.

@@PRNTestDrive I see a lot of the extended cabs with a six foot bed. I’m pretty certain of the same bed size with a crew cab was available, it would be bought. I’m assuming you’re from a community where there aren’t many blue collar workers. Where I live, I see a lot of rangers. All the workers have extended cabs because a 5 foot bed is not enough. Many others get the 4 foot Tacoma because it was the option of a 6 foot bed

How is the lane centering assist and adaptive cruse on the highway? Does the lane centering work well or kick off a lot?
@rake93 ай бұрын
Lane assist works really well. The Adaptive Cruise Control is good, but I feel like it should be braking a little bit earlier than it does. Ive been testing it and been scared a few times that it wasnt going to stop in time.
@PRNTestDrive3 ай бұрын
I didn't have any concerns using it on the highway, our test loop (100kms) is about 80% highway which is almost exclusively used with any advanced driving assist systems like adaptive cruise/lane centering. Worked out well consider it's an off-roady truck.

Good review but there’s no way the reported gas mileage is correct. Mine is barely getting 16mpg and that’s what I’ve been seeing on other reviews. Car is rated 16mpg city and 19mpg highway. Can you confirm how you tested it?
@preston73763 ай бұрын
I drive mine around the city on sport mode most of the time and currently average a whopping 13mpg lol
@rake93 ай бұрын
Same, I am getting about 14mpg in mine
@PRNTestDrive3 ай бұрын
Our test loop is designed as a way for us to compare other vehicles we test against one another, not an indication of what a consumer should expect. Our test loop is 100kms, 80% highway, 15% country roads, 5% city driving. The elevation changes significantly throughout, with many hills along the first 90% of the loop. The 10L/100km or 23.5 US MPG we recorded gets used to measure against any other vehicle we drive along the same route. For example, the 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost did 8.8L/100km, so by comparison the Raptor Ranger isn't as efficient despite being a smaller truck.

your mileage may vary but the sticker package makes it look cheap and "boy racer" to me
@PRNTestDrive3 ай бұрын
It certainly depends on personal preference. At least they make it optional, and I believe you can even delete the Raptor decals from the factory.
@northerntoyota75843 ай бұрын
Ford decided to add a lot of packages as standard equipment here in Canada, I believe that is why it’s so expensive here. Too bad, 70k Canadian would be a decent buy
@mabelpup85023 ай бұрын
You think that’s why it’s expensive? Not because “free” health insurance isn’t really free??
@firebry233 ай бұрын
You get the same one that's offered in the states. You get everything standard very few options.

Pricing is what I'd have expected as it's the top trip, and designed as the performance/off-road version. Just wish a sunroof was available.

We do, we can work on things like our appearance luckily, whereas commenters like that unfortunately can't fix being ignorant. They're stuck with it.

I imagine that most vehicles are difficult for you to get in. Why do you reviewer's think that the raptor is made for off roading or rock crawling or traversing trails. It isn't. It's made for baja style racing, like racing through the desert. Get your facts straight and lay off the KFC and gravy for dipping your chicken into.
