I make bookmarks out of the pieces that are wasted along with fridge magnets. Nothing gets wasted as i use the scraps kn my mixed media. Using different scrapes from different pieces can look good when put into an abstract 😊

I use a 4X6 opening framing mat and move it around larger pieces to find the 4X6 composition that I like to decide where to cut.

I volunteer for a non-profit where one of the things they do is send greeting cards to hundreds of people each year. This is exactly what I was looking for to donate handmade greeting cards to the non-profit. Thank you! I subscribed! ❤

Beautiful! And seeing you use the paper cutter makes me want to use one too! :) My birthday is coming up in a couple of months; I'll have to put that on my wishlist. :)

It is super useful and mine has lasted for years. I would shop around and see if you can find a better price than Amazon.

Thanks so much for this! I've been pondering doing cards with what I call my Animal Oracle Art and this was so helpful to see how you do your cards. And it's something I can take with me as we go to FL for 6-weeks in our motorhome. YAY!!

Definitely Barbara! It sounds like a fun thing to do on your trip. Glad you found the video helpful.

Love your work, thanks for making videos! The cards are beautiful. Just one thing - once coated with acrylic paint, paper is no longer recyclable. Ink or watercolor , yes. That said, you make me want to get back to playing with paint & making cards. :).

Thanks MaryKim for your kind words. I also appreciate the info regarding painted paper recycling--good to know.

Thanks for sharing your process. I do it the same way, except taping all of them at once is a new and good idea. What brands of foam and DS tape do you like? How much do yo sell an original artwork card in the cellophane envelope for? Thanks.
@avanellehansen45259 ай бұрын
I just found your supply list. Thanks. Still curious about card pricing.
@pamhemmerling9 ай бұрын
@@avanellehansen4525 I generally sell my cards for $15/each. On my website I have them bundled and sell a grouping of 3 for $33 or 4 for $40. To be honest I don't sell that many and I'm not sure how much interest there actually is in original artwork on a greeting card.

How much do you price your cards at? And do you sell them individually or in pairs, or sets?

Absolutely LOVELY cards! I always hope that the receiver will frame the card as a 'work of Art', don't you? 🙂 Once I get moved, I will turn some of my Art into greeting cards. My Graphic Designer/Photographer is here in NC, so I'm going to get as much of my Art as I can to him, so he can photograph/digitize things for Me before I leave. More cost-effective than shipping the originals to him. LOL He's just THAT good... a MAGICIAN, for sure. I trust your new year has launched in a positive trajectory and will continue on its path to great curiosity and imagination! HUGS! Ciao For Now... Deborah 🌎🚀

Oh Deborah, that is so cool that you are working with a graphic designer & photographer (I know you mentioned that before). I'm sure it will be amazing! I can't wait to see all your art (when you post on IG!!). My year is off to a great start--thanks for asking. In next week's video, I'm talking about my ideas for the year--I'll be curious what you think.

What material are the mini paintings on?
@pamhemmerling9 ай бұрын
I use whatever paper I have on hand Katy. I know that sounds vague but I do a lot of layering of paint and collage so for the base I do generally use a sturdier paper like mixed media or watercolor or thin cardboard. But sometimes I use fragile, vintage book paper--so I'm a contradiction!
@frananderson76159 ай бұрын
are you doing that art work on cardboard?
@pamhemmerling9 ай бұрын
Fran, some are on thin cardboard, some on cardstock, mixed media paper, or watercolor paper. Whatever I have on hand. Obviously, if you want it to be archival you would need to be more particular.
