Pretty cool. I like more AR glasses competition! Xreal glasses was okay but it needs higher refresh rate and resolution. Maybe by the time this comes out it'll surpass it

I like using them as a flat display. I actually never use the ar features. Just a huge flat screen is already super useful

It's pretty neat yes, but this technology has such a long way to go to replace a quality passthrough solution. It could take another 15 years before you even get close to what the Quest 3 can do let alone the Apple Vision Pro.

Curious, why do you say the format is "Ok". What form factor is smaller than this as a stand alone device? Bigscreen is small but this seems even flatter, and Bigscreen is not stand alone. What were you seeing that left you not as impressed?

This is what I meant is true Apple Vision Pro killer, imagine these lenses with the recently revealed tiny Micro OLED 4K panels + Snapdragon AR chip with Google AR OS..... It will definitely kill Vision Pro for good, there's no way a passthrough will beat transparent display with wide FOV.... 120 FOV is complicated but there's 80-90 that are simple and thin

@@fluoxethine Hololens 2 is a huge success AR device and it is being used by health and military industries today. Hololens is a big breakthrough AR device and still is very much alive. The only negatives i found about it was the small FOV and 720p resolution, despite that it is still the best current AR device available. Quest 3 and Apple vision pro were not released yet.

Looks very impressive. First time I tried the Hololens, while it was new and impressive technology, the two factors which were so disappointing compared to my experiences in VR were the FoV which I believe the graphical rendering display was around 40 degrees and the opacity of the graphics which just wasn't displaying solid colours, everything looked transparant. This technology appears to address both issues and in a big way. 👍

The 1K per eye is kind of disappointing for the reference model. Hopefully in the future it will be 4K per eye with small cameras for inside out tracking and a cable to a mini computer/battery pack you can put on your waist or in your pocket.

Im sorry. No current technology for AR compares to this. The showed the optics were ready a year ago. Now we see them again... Its ready and we cant wait to get it. It changes soo much!

AR with transparent lenses (and not pass through) will always be inferior. The colors are washed, there are no blacks etc. I don't think this is a viable solution.
