masters did confirm that some time ago, actually well honestly i guess us/um confirmed it ? they're the ones that made it clear he had a connection to rotom, but masters doubled down on that and so that sort of cemented that he was the person who wrote the diary, on top of confirming beyond doubt that the remorseful old man on route 228 in platinum's grandson was cyrus _(because cyrus has a line or two specifically talking about enjoying "tinkering with machines" regarding rotom, which is exactly how the old man described what his grandson from sunyshore did as a child - that was another commonly accepted thing but i know there was at least credence to the idea it was meant to be volkner instead)_ i guess it's never been fully confirmed but, this is just another instance of them acknowledging that part of his story, and seeing cyrus actually having a rotom on his team knowing all he went through is incredibly sweet _ ^ _

@@lovelovemiraclesunsetgirl yeah but it wasn’t ouright Said that he had a rotom or at all used in the games. like, the idea that cyrus has a rotom has just been an idea, until this game, where they gave him a rotom in one of his teams. some people said that the usum cutscene was him expressing disdain about how even the dex has a spirit in that world so i guess it wasn’t proof enough for some people? masters did a pretty good job in confirming the theory too but it’s a side game. so i guess this is the first Actual Coherent Proof of the kid with the rotom being cyrus. the encounter with his grandpa on route 228 also just did not connect to the rotom backstory to most people, especially since most didn’t even know who the guy was talking about (it isn’t really obvious that it’s cyrus if you’re reading it out of context) but the way it all connects to rotom is So cool and i just wish someone gave cyrus a hug one day edit: and yeah!! it’s so heartwarming how he actually still keeps his rotom and stuff. i love it so much

Being able to refight all the gyms and have them harder, the op elite 4 rematches and now at least getting the galactic commanders in the battle tower! I’d have gone for a match with an updated team outside of the battle tower but this works fine! Love it

Well this is not a universe I would want to use an Ultra Wormhole to visit if it means an omnicidal maniac like Cyrus and his subordinates are allowed to roam free in spite of the crimes they committed. Seriously, why did they think it would be such a great idea to put them in the Battle Tower?! It worked with Guzma and Plumeria in the Battle Tree because Team Skull wasn’t straight up evil. But this totally ruins Team Galactic’s story by leaving it so unresolved. They committed serious crimes and, with the exception of Saturn, showed no remorse for their actions. They should have at least had Looker show up and arrest them like he did with Charon in Platinum and the Seven Sages in Black/White.
