Incredible, you are a master, greetings from Nicaragua, Central America, I wanted to know how to connect an RC-300 to the 1202fx console and make all the channels LOOP, using the FX, but without losing the effects of the console, just bring the loop signal to the console, I don't know if I make myself understood, bring the loop pedal signal to the console, but continue using the effects of this same console, I would appreciate your help

Great idea, the only big downside to this is the evident latency (besides the effect) it has since it needs more time to process the signal, I guess this would work better in more pre-recorded events such as podcasts, radio or anything that is not live.
@Artemago
@Artemago 3 жыл бұрын
Since I am using a digital effects pedal, there is a slight latency from the conversion of the signal from Analog to Digital and Digital back to Analog but this only takes about 2ms which is virtually unnoticeable.

I've watched your video like 5 times it's very creative still trying to figure this out in my head let me explain I have a Tascam DP 04 I'm just wondering cuz I just bought a Mackie 402 vlz3 my first question on Channel 1 on my Mackie can I hook up a microphone and a guitar on Channel 1 because I have an XLR input as well as I have a high Z instrument on Channel 1 as well as identical on Channel 2 I'm just wondering if I can record guitar and vocals on Channel 1 I'm wanting to add my pedal effects to my voice or guitar as well so that I can record that directly into my Tascam DP 04
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
No you cannot use the mic input and the line input on the same channel simultaneously. If you are only running vocals and guitar, then use channel 1 for vocals, channel 2 for guitar, and channel 3 for fx as shown in the video
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
If you only desire to add effects to vocals only or guitar only, then I recommend adding the pedals before the mixer. If you are wanting to add FX to both vocals and guitar then you can also hook up the FX pedal between the mackie and the tascam. The method in the video works well if you want to apply the same effect to all or some of your inputs

I need to know how to connect my effects pedal to a powered mixer. If I plug my guitar into the "in" of my pedal and the "out" of the pedal to my powered speaker input I get a feedback loop. I'm using Italian Stage powered speakers.

First of all, thank you very much for the nice video. I have two mixers. behringer xenyx 802 usb and behringer Q1202 usb. I would like to ask two questions if possible. My first question is, is an effect pedal connected to both? My other question is, for example, let's say we used the reverb effect in the effects pedal. If there is fx on the microphone channel and the piano channel, will there be a reverb effect on both channels? I mean, no matter what effect it is, will it have an effect on every channel using fx? I hope my questions are clear. and I hope you will reply. Thanks for everything.
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
It would not be easy to connect the output of the effects pedal to two mixers. Using the 802 or the 1202, you would want to connect the FX send into the FX pedal, then connect the FX output to any stereo channel. This will be the FX return channel which you can then EQ or pan, but maintain the FX send of this channel all the way left CCW so that the FX is not sent back to itself. Use the corresponding FX send per channel to control what channels will be sent to the FX pedal.

@Artemago
@Artemago 11 ай бұрын
You could try to run the master outs to the pedal then out to your speaker or PA, but you would need adapters from RCA to 1/4" to your pedal. But note that the entire output signal would be going through the pedal, which may not be desirable.

Greetings friend.. I wanted to ask you something.. You went out in mono towards the pedal by the right main??? and in mono towards the speaker with the left mono and from the pedal you entered in mono to the console... THAT'S RIGHT??? all panned
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
That is correct: L to mains, R to pedal. PAN everything to be sent to the pedal to the R. Pan channel coming from pedal all the way to the L. If you don't want channels going to the pedal, pan them L also.

I attempted to use this solution with my Boss Gigcaster 8. Unfortunately I get feedback :( Does it matter if the cable is Mono or Stereo?
@Artemago
@Artemago 9 ай бұрын
Make sure pan settings are as shown in the video. If the signal coming from the FX processor is routed back to itself, feedback will occur.

Cables are not mono or stereo, but, rather, balanced or unbalanced. But this should not matter in this case.

Hi. I have a soundcraft lx 7ii 24 channel mixer. Can you tell me how to connect effect module to it. I plan to take Aux out to the effect module. Where do i connect in the mixer. And can i get effect for any other channel mic from the setup.
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
Connect Mixer Aux OUT 1-6 (your choice) to FX module IN. Then connect FX module OUT to Mixer Stereo Return 1 or 2. The Aux channel number you choose will now be sent to the fx and returned via the stereo return. You will now be able to send any channel to the fx processor by using that channel’s corresponding aux send.

Great video. I'm wondering... if a mixer has a built-in effects processor and this single FX Send jack, using the FX Send kills the built-in effects? Or can you use both at the same time?

Hello Sir, Watched couple of your videos multiple times and it's very informative. I'm trying to correlate concepts from your videos to achieve something. I have an idea of looping 3 instruments (guitar, keyboard and a drumpad). Need a mic for vocals, looping not necessary. My lekato looper is on the way from the states to India. Currently I just have a cheap Chinese B4 mixer with 2 XLR and 3/4 stereo. No FX or Aux Sends. How can I achieve multiple instruments looping. It's a new mixer I got to experiment. Can return and upgrade to a little better behringer one. Budget can go upto 100 USD maximum. I'm still exploring, with this idea and goal in mind. What do you suggest. May I have your email ID please, If that's okay.

You will need at minimum a 5 channel (1 mono + 4 stereo) stereo mixer with pan knobs for each channel. And with such a small mixer, you will be limited to MONO output, but you will be able to loop all the channels into the loop pedal. This is how I run my setup as I do not need stereo looping. If you want stereo looping, then you will necessitate a larger mixer with sub or alt outputs. For MONO looping and $100, the Behringer Xenyx 1202FX is a great buy and it has effects. You could get by with the 1002FX also for $79. For stereo looping you would need the 1204 or any other mixer with sub/alt outputs and the ability to switch routing for all channels. Unfortunately, the B4 mixers I saw on a search did not appear to have PAN knobs for the channels; thus, it will not even be suitable for MONO looping.
@rohitvarun170
@rohitvarun170 2 жыл бұрын
@@Artemago Yes I have watched and still watching to get the concepts and register the routing in my head. How about having a Y jack at the input side of the looper with one input being guitar and another being Keyboard/beats. The out of the looper goes into one channel. I can send one loop at a time either with a guitar or keyboard at a time. Anyways they have on-board controls for volume , preamp and EQ on the instruments itself. Is that a workable solution too ?
@Artemago
@Artemago 2 жыл бұрын
@@rohitvarun170 Using a Y cable would technically work, but the sound will be affected in various undesirable ways, so I do not recommend this. Better would be to use a 2 channel-A/B or a 3 channel-A/B/C switch box/pedal. This will allow you to select the instrument to be looped while silencing the other instruments. This will work if you want to loop only one instrument at a time, which is typically the case. For simultaneous looping of instruments, you will need a mixer with capabilities as shown in other video. In your case I think getting a switch box would accomplish your goals while utilizing the equipment you already have. But note that switch box pedals can be pricey, and money may be better spent on a better mixer.

So to send signal to pc (to feed zoom/teams/skype/gmeet) you need use separate interface? There is no way to use mixers USB output because it gives both left and right?
@Artemago
@Artemago 3 жыл бұрын
You could certainly use the USB out, however, it will have both L and R outputs. And if you set it up as in the video, then the R channel will have the inputs and the L channel will have the FX. Or if input channels are panned center then they would appear in L and R but FX would be on L only. This may sound funny to the listener on the other end. You could try to set up the input (PC program) to be MONO so that it will double the L signal as opposed to using both L and R.

I have a Behringer Reverb Machine guitat pedal and hope to link this to a Yamaha MG12 using AUX SEND 1 and back to a new channel. Q. Can essentially any guitar pedal be able to work like this? Thank you for a great video. Superb hack for small mixers.
@Artemago
@Artemago Жыл бұрын
Most modern pedals will work. On the MG12 use either Aux send 1 or 2. Usually FX sends are used post fader, so aux 2 more applicable, but aux 1 can be switched pre/post.
