These start at $54,000 without any options. It’s a nice little camper that seems a little overpriced.
@mixflip2 жыл бұрын
These are probably more like the airstream of the truck camper world. Finest craftsmanship, unique esthetic and style, modern technology, built rugged and tough in Golden Colorado (not China) by a handful of passionate Americans. More like buying art probably. I mean you could buy a wood and staples slide in truck camper for $20k but it will be far more heavy than 1400lbs and way weaker on washboard roads. Kelsey also mentioned lots of people are selling their vanlife vans and KOA type RVs and taking that cash profit to buy a more off road setup like a 4x4 truck with a camper. I guess I see the value in it because I’ve seen others that are junk. I have a friend name Gene who bought a brand new RV and the bathroom floor cracked open exposing the road below on his first trip down the road. It was made of wood and glue in a huge mass produced factory for $40k. A few bucks more and he could have had an airstream.
@Gazziza292 жыл бұрын
They start at that price because the standard package includes everything you need. The options are just upgrades that most people don't need anyways. The base package probably works best for most people. A lot of other campers like FWC start with "shell" pricing and it goes up from there.
@mixflip2 жыл бұрын
@@Gazziza29 that’s actually a very good point. I’m sure Supertramp campers can build a shell for $20k and by the time you ad in the LEDs, battle born lithium batteries, solar panels, fridge, stove, fans, truma system you would be close to $50k without the warranty or clean esthetics the pros provide. Sell the airstream trailer or ram promaster or Winnibego class C that can’t go off road and use that cash to buy this… that’s what many are doing.

A $20 nylon ground tent is always an option. Heck you don’t need a truck. Just walk into the forest with your legs and boots. Heck you don’t need boots. Natives didn’t have boots 500 years ago. Just toughen up your feet and learn to live off the land like a native. None of this technology and gear is needed.

It’s a great design and all but I’m personally sick of pop-up campers. I have a four wheel camper hawk. Pop-ups are good for arid climates where it does not rain a lot because when you have to put it away wet, with mold and other issues then come into play. Also, I’d rather climb out of my camper into the cab and drive away. Not have to worry about stashing everything and dropping the top and matching the top blah blah blah I’d rather have a solid wall camper built for off-road.
