If you are having trouble clicking and dragging to adjust audio levels, you can hold command while you're dragging. It makes it way less sensitive.

I've been doing this is bit differently lately. I usually have three different "channels" of Audio; Music, Dialog, and Sound Effects (mostly tool noise and ambient sound that would be weird if not there). I Assign everything appropriate roles, then compound out every role so I can simply reduce the music, boost the dialog and leave the Audio FX in one go. I find when I then compound out the entire track at the end, the dialogue's on top, the FX are in the middle, and the music is in the BG (where it usually should be). Thanks for this vid, it's helped me out heaps on both of my channels.

Hey man, if you don't want the music to fade in or out (you want it to be a surprise when you start speaking), you can just BLADE the music tracks (separate them), so you can control their levels separately and you can have the volume go up and down instantly (rather than fade).

As a novice vlogger, I started with FCPX but recently switched to Premiere because I couldn't find enough solid FCPX Tutorials. That said, Premiere rendering and upload times are PAINFUL. If you keep this up I might be tempted to switch back. Would love to see Tutorials on key framing, for some reason it seems much easier in Premiere.

love the concept ! FYI the option you're wishing for does exist on Premiere, it allows you to simply define music and speaking parts and then Premiere can auto-generate key frames to get the volume down whenever you speak. Aris, Premier has a new feature called Audio Ducking which is outstanding. You tag your audio as dialogue or Music then duck your music against the audio. It automatically generates key frames reducing the music when you speak. PK has a video on it kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ6bY519g8eHkJI

Hi mate just found this video and have a quick question - your audio track (music) you drop to minus 13. Then you make compound clip and jack the non speaking parts up to +12. I’m kinda missing the point why you create it as a compound clip? Why not drop audio to minus 13, then when you’re not talking and you want louder music select range tool and raise to -1? Same thing minus a compound clip?
@RCodyWanner5 жыл бұрын
It’s just slightly faster to be able to pull the volume the whole way to the top instead of trying to drop it and hit -13 - but I did later learn that holding down the Command (or perhaps option) key while dragging the volume makes it move slower and more easy to fine tune

For example do I go +20 on the mic and reduce the mic in camera or leave camera as default and mic at default. Also has option on the left - 150 or 75. I have no idea what they’re for because I hate reading manuals I prefer KZbin 😂 Not sure if you could help with that mate but it’d be awesome!!
