Never thought about DJing as an art form the way Z-Trip describes it. Listening to him talk about musicianship and juxtaposing pieces in different time, key, and genre, however, makes me think otherwise. Also, remixing in-the-moment music to go with live skating is remarkable. Downloaded his skate mix and more. Probably won't hear "Shout" the same way again, though. I love all these differing guests. Variety is the spice of life. Thank you.

I was turned on to DJ Z-trip in the late 90's. He had a lot of fans working at Rockford Fosgate/Hafler. I've been in awe of Z-trip's musicianship since I first saw him play live with a bunch of friends, a drum kit, tables, maybe a bass guitar. It was great night, and I wish I hadn't been having "so much fun" so that I'd have a better recollection of it.

Interesting that you say this. I have worked on a feature length film (DJ HERO) about trips life story. He would not let me buy the life rights to tell the story because it was too critical about his true character. He used people, stole music, ideas, profits, technology, he didn't support family members...etc. HE didn't help bomb shelter djs radar and Emile when they needed financial help....he stole the Rane 62 mixer from jazzy Jeff. Beg, borrow, steal is his motto...
