Really helpful tips again:) Thx! Although I already knew some of your points, you tell things very simply and clearly, so I can get them really well! Before watching this video, I knew it's good to separately layer sub and normal bass, and I also watched many other videos, but I don't know why, I recognized it as a very complex thing, and didn't know how to make it clearly. Now, I am very clear about it:) Hope you can keep teaching us. Thx a lot!

Hi my friend tnx a lot for your great videos I really appreciate all of them Anyway I have another idea We know that on volumeshaper we have side chain frequency that we can separate sub and main bass And also we can decide to sidechain sub frequencies with kick and for compress sub bass we can use multiband compressor like waves c4 or C6 or fabfilter pro mb I apologise to put this comment I don't have your experience In my country there is no where to learn these tutorials and we mix and master our songs by watching KZbin tutorials or long experiences Sorry for my weak language Kambiz from Iran

Thx again, really useful tips:) I have a question. You said we should make sure that always heavily compress sub bass, but how about other higher bass? For example, I have a layered bass line, sub bass + mid high bass, do i also need to heavily compress the mid high bass?
@thewhat5314 жыл бұрын
I use white noise to trigger any side chained effects like gates and compressors. I find it much easier to tweak than messing around with a kick.

I like your vids. You always seemed baked. Ever consider doing a "Mixing while Baked" tutorial series? In the pantheon of audio tuts presently flooding YT, THAT would stick out.

I think you have a misconception, smoking doesn't make you incoherent. In fact, for some it calms their mind enough to BE coherent :)
@maciejdolacki92834 жыл бұрын
@@NaopolitanMusic true, but just like when you feel stress and only a cigarette break helps, the stress is withdrawal from the substance, not relieved by it. in this case social hang ups, anxiety, low motivation; arent magically disappearing when you get high...they magically appear while or after smoking. yup, its not easy, youll feel like a psychologist after a life lived for weed.
@NaopolitanMusic4 жыл бұрын
@@maciejdolacki9283 I wasn't referring to myself, only those that I know (I do partake however). I'm referring to those already predisposed with overactive minds, one of my friends for example is always brimming with ideas or things to do or hobbies to start, smoking cannabis gives him focus

deadmau5 mentions adding a limiter to your sub bass and sometimes even bass sounds. the limiter will catch the loudest notes and then limit them down to the range of the others

Hi Big Z. I can't say that I am able to apply the knowledge from this video simply because I don't have same plugins as You. I am not sure if I understood well but You suggest something like for instance cut a freq range 30 to 100 Hz from the original track then make a copy of that track with only that freq range and then subchain that track where the controlling signal will come from the kick ? Best Regards

How do you hear the low end accurately in a home studio? Despite acoustic treatment, the room does not produce an accurate frequency response.
