Wow, what a gorgeous piece! I have never seen fused glass that has been colored and detailed like the one you created in this video. You have opened the door so I can see a whole new world of fused glass art. I would love to start a new hobby and work with fused glass. I'm not very creative, so my version would have to be a stick figure instead of 2 rabbits. 😆 You've got a new subscriber, and I'm excited to see what you'll create next. Thank you!

I afire your work and teachings! Just wow! The one thing I would do differently is leave some of the fall over glass powder and just mix it together for a future project. That’s cuz I’m lazy, lol.

Thank you for watching Cynthia. I do have what I term as 'meadow mix' which is a collection of all the powders and frit that my students forget to tidy away during their own projects.

Very nice, beautiful, complex project. Instructive to see how much color density, opacity/transparency that the powders/frit have after firing. The moon is perfect, it is not just a pale colored disc in the sky, but it has the thin white haze about it as it most often has. Interesting to contemplate how each person perceives color slightly differently, an extreme illustration of what I mean is that it has been said that as Vincent van Gogh's schizophrenia worsened, his vision was altered , so his later paintings were quite different from his earlier ones. Since I am out in the farm lands/forests etc. with our Bulldog after dark for his last walk of the day, I am quite often in such moonlit pastoral, quiet situations. So as I look at your piece, I can feel the cool, crisp, humid night air and smell the varying with the seasons odors, floral in springtime from large apple trees etc., various herbal odors summertime, autumn has resinous and valerian like odors coming off of drying leaves, sycamore trees (do the English call them plane trees?), and wintertime, moonlight air smells of ozone. Also, for the first time ever, I take note of your terra cotta flower pots on the shelves. Since I am an avid gardener, the large garden is vegetables, I can 80 quarts of tomatoes per year from the garden, among other things, so, anyhow, 80 % of my space is vegetables, 20 % is every kind of flower from earliest crocuses, through narcissus, hyacinths, towering Oriental lilies, the old, romantic "English" roses, all chosen primarily for fragrance, our 1890's farmhouse must have a cloud of fragrance around it during the growing season, as i attempt to create the 1890's through 1920's atmosphere. Anyhow, your hare scene evokes all of those life experiences for me, quite idyllic. 61 years of contemplation has gradually focused and solidified for me, that God put us into this world to sustain ourselves, be a blessing to those around us, and attempt to create heaven on earth. I think that if we do not lose sight of that, then our days will be much more gratifying and cheerful. Thank you for sharing! Anything in life worth doing is difficult. Ralph in Ohio.

Thank you Ralph for your in-depth reflections. You are very eloquent and it's amazing what people get from visual stimuli. In London there are many plane trees, it's the capitols most common tree. As a hybrid of American sycamore and Oriental plane, it was first discovered in the 17th century then widely planted in the 18th in London. (I had to look this up!)

@@FiredGlass I still have some large quarter sawn plane boards from 40 years ago. They have fantastic silver flake on the surface, but when finished, it looks quite underwhelming. I made several projects from it. So my plan is to relegate it to secondary positions , like cabinet backs, floors etc.
@FiredGlass2 жыл бұрын
That's disappointing, such potential let down by underwhelming outcome.
