Any idea why we should set our pan knobs full left or full right WHILE tracking? It came up in a session the other day and I was like “wow I’ve never heard of that”. Thanks

Would you ever pan drums off center? Like if you had a drum set and a drum loop or in my case a drum set and cajon? Or would you just pile them on top of each other?

Hey Mike -- I know this is an older video now, but I was wondering if there is a way that we can get the track/sound files for this song and maybe try a mix on our own? I understand if this is not something that can be done (due to many reasons), but if possible, I'd be interested in working on this a little (just to help myself learn to mix in this genre a little better). All best!

I have yet to find another channel which is as good as yours in terms of knowledge and how it's transported. Thank you for all the free lessons!

Hi, I've been watching a lot of your videos. They are really good! However, I was wondering whether you do mixes for other genres such as rnb, hip-hop. That's the type of music I like making and would love to see some tutorials on that genre. Thanks, Poppy

+PoppyMusic I do mixes in a lot of styles but primarily have an ear for rock/alt rock. If the right multi comes my way, I would love to do something in the hiphop realm. The demos are connected to my online class where I mix songs live and talk about everything I am doing and why. Many of the mixing tip extend from the multi I am working with. Looking for any new one soon if you have something to offer. Cheers! Mike

+Michael White haha I understand now, what you are saying. I record in Logic Pro and not pro tools unfortunately. :)

Techniques are the same in all DAWs. The only thing you need to translate is where to find the same feature in your DAW. I do not get heavily into Pro Tools as part of the class, only focus on the techniques I am demonstrating.

Great tutorial, but some advise if you are able to route the audio of your session as well your voice and record the tutorials and all audio thru your computer video recording software we can better hear when u are panning or want us to key listen to something. U will hear that slight change but we cant and I have headphones on. I believe u would have to use soundflower and route using cable from your computers outs to interface in and interface out to computers in. im sure you know what Im talking about. I would just like to hear what u are hearing so I can get a better understanding of you are pointing out.
