Agree AND they are the best love songs too. I feel very fortunate to have been a teenager in the 1970s - we were exposed to different genres of music. I grew up in the SF Bay Area so that was even more true (early days of FM) and my record collection and concerts I have seen over the years is quite eclectic.

I'm 65. The beautiful thing about disco, was the songs like this. Optimistic and encouraging, you could dance with your friends, and dream the lyrics were about you, a cool hip world, and the cutest person you ran into that night. Post Vietnam, disco was a "free love atmosphere" where equality existed on a lot of interpersonal levels. People from the predjudiced crowd ridiculed it, but discotheques were was the most diverse gathering about "brotherly love and understanding" ever. Crossed lines of color, integrated and introduced multi-cuturism, and lots of love and curiosity without fear. It was a home. Miss it now. I took it for granted that the utopia of the 70's would last forever, perhaps even get better, brotherhood wise. Thanks for re-broadcasting them.Very cool time.

The Spinners were one of my favorite groups growing up in the 70's. The majority of their big hits were released on Atlantic Records; the first one I remember was "I'll Be Around." But before the Atlantic years they were signed to Motown Records and had a couple of minor hits there. One of my favorites from that period is "Truly Yours." You should check that one out.

I'm 71, grew up in the Herman Gardens in Detroit Michigan. At the end of our building a good friend of ours lived in the building next to us, he lived on the second floor, right across from him the lead singer of the Spinners lived. My brother had talked to him as well as our friend, I have to say I had never met him, just seen him.

Try some music by YES one of the greatest progressive rock groups of all time and my favorite band. You haven't reacted to them at all. They have many long songs that are masterpieces. Not your usual music. Some good ones include "Roundabout", "Close to the Edge", "The Gates of Delirium". "Awaken", "Turn of the Century"... Loads of good ones.
