Wow, Initially it looks like a crazy movie with a mad character, but this is a serious movie as it goes, and it may develop, under some weird plan of this prescient monk, and make him into some great wise character. I am hooked. I wish the subtitles can be extended a split second longer, they disappear too soon. Thanks to Samurai & Ninja.

In spite of the bath Musashi took in episode1, in real life he never combed his hair or took a bath. No wonded he never got married. Also, the character Otsu never existed.

The book he started reading is Sun-tzu's (Son-shi in Japanese) Art of War. I don't care much for Kitaoji Kinya's portrayal of Musashi, but it looks like this will be a good series, with a much faster pacing than the Yakusho Koji's Musashi series.
