Nice review!! Thanks from all the lefty’s out here! Waiting on mine to arrive, playing last years 223’s right now.

Nice video. Was trying to hold out for the 241 but kept hitting the T100’s at Golf Galaxy and ended up getting those. Should be a nice upgrade and more forgiving than my MP-69’s.

Excellent review. I love the MP 245 easy flight control, distance, feel and lower scores!

Was just like you...was disappointed they didn't make the 225's LH. Excited to see the 245's were available in LH.

Great review! Are you able to do a review of the 423’s?

Yes indeed. I think I'm ready to go back to Mizuno irons or at least try these out with a fitting to compare. I played Mizuno's in the 90's & early 2000's but left for Callaway's for more distance irons and then on to Titlist S-100's at present as I felt I could play more shots with the S-100 vs my Callaway's. I like my S-100's but as I'm now 70, would be curious to hit this 241/243/245 series--maybe combo looking to achieve more consistentcy. I had sent you an email asking about Vega irons as I thought they might be similar to Mizuno, but I know Mizuno's will be consistent quality. I still play Mizuno hybrids & woods. I presume you are taking appts for fittings--maybe Feb? Ed--New Phila.

I put these in my back and I could not be more happy. I’ve been cut two shots since winning an open tournament. Onwards and upwards 😃.

Great review. I was fitted for the MP 225’s a year ago and love them. I recently played a difficult course’s 5 par 3’s with 3 birds 2 pars. Excellent clubs…No changes🏌️♂️🏌️♂️

The lofts specs are strong. Do you feel the weight at the bottom offsets the lofts and correct the descending angle and flight path ? Great vid!

Great video thank you question re the shaft lengths I’ve seen this before with Mizuno they seem to arrive a little longer than specs .eg 7 iron according to spec the 245 length is supposed to be 37 but it’s come in at 37 1/2 is this to get the matching swing weight? Thanks again

Was looking forward to this one, Jim. Great review! How do the head weights of these look? Equal to the 241 full forging? Lighter than? Does the weight that they use in the hollow body make for the lost weight because of the construction? Inquiring minds want to know. 😊 Asking, because wondering how they would swing weight with a 95 gram shaft.
@McGolf6 ай бұрын
They are lighter than the will heads but equal in head weight to the 241s

I ordered these. They’re ridiculously forgiving

I noticed you swing weighted a club with the kbs tour lite. Was this the same club you frequency tested?

I'm guessing a change is coming to your bag very soon Jim lol. I love hollow body irons also... I have Sub70 699s with elevate shafts. All the bag appeal without the cluttered overdone badging of most cavity backs.

Jim I game the ez forged around a 22 handicaper would this in your opinion be a good option for my handicaper or another iron be better.

So they come out longer than spec? Quarter inch longer? Do they measure grip off? I’ve had this issue with my ZX4 mkII irons, they were all 1/2 longer than spec! I was fitted for those and have not been happy and I honestly think it’s the extra length! Lefty here as well, thx for the great reviews! 😎
@McGolf6 ай бұрын
TO be clear I would consider them longer than my normal spec from years of testing other OEMs. The mizuno website conspicuously leaves this spec off the chart so I have to assume (yes I know what happens when the occurs lol) since both sets of irons were identical that this is their "normal" just not mine. Both Srixon and mizuno heads are lighter. To make up for swing weight, length is added. I would submit that cutting off the 1/2" would be fine.
@chuckgauthier23746 ай бұрын
Thx for the reply! How much would the swingweight drop if I cut them down 1/2 inch?

What do you charge for iron fittings? Do you handle Titleist?
@adambarnes41916 ай бұрын
We know manufacturing tolerances aren't perfect. That said, if we assume the press that creates the sole and bounce is more consistent than loft/lie, what happens when the head is made with more/less loft? If a 245 7 iron is spec'd at 30 degree and 5 degree bounce, but comes off the line at 31, would the bounce be 6? Or would it still be 5 so that when you bend it down to 30 it moves the bounce to 4.
@kennyoliver24035 ай бұрын
It would be 6. When you adjust the LOFT of a club the by product is that it also affects the bounce as well as the how much offset is on the club. So if you take that 30 degree 7 iron and bend it 2 degrees stronger, you now have 28 degrees loft and 3 degrees bounce and also a fraction more offset so it now will look different to you at setup.

Is this similar to Srixon x5 and Titleist T100?

Maybe it was an editing snafu, but you stated the 245’s were shafted with the Mid 115’s (assume Truetemper) and the 241’s were shafted with the KBS’s. During the swing weight testing, the video showed KBS branding. Can you confirm what shaft was used in the 245 testing? I am intrigued by the Truetemper tour issue 115 Mid shafts, and of course the 245’s! Thank you

How would they compare to the ping g410 irons. Seem to have comparable loft’s.
@maoribattalioNZ2 ай бұрын
Not really targeted at the same audience. 245 more low-mid/mid, 410s more mid-high
@TZOID086 ай бұрын
Not to Nit Pick but you weighed the 225 with the KBS Tour Lite shafts when you did Swing Weights not the 245 with Dynamic Gold Mid 115.

The video is of the 241, I didn’t have it for the 245 to show it was getting done, they really did turn out at the swing weights told in the video thanks ad good eye

I tried the 245s (admittedly on an Astroturf mat) and ended with a broken heart. 😭💔 I have the original Mizuno "hollow blades," the MP-20 HMB, and really like them. I passed on the 225s since my clubs were only 2 years old at the time, but thought I might like the 245s. But it seems that Mizuno doesn't want anyone with a handicap over 5 using them. I fluctuate between an 8 and 12, and had no problems at all with the MP-20 HMBs even carding my first ever under par round with them. I'm currently recovering from rotator cuff surgery and not supposed to hit balls for another month, but I highly doubt that was an issue, since I've already started chipping and pitching at the range.

Same here I was between T200 and 245’s. Took 10 shots on each and was heartbroken. The T200 was better fit.

Hey Jim. If one was playing Apex 21 irons would it be an upgrade to go to Mizuno 245?
@MrMatthew2624 ай бұрын
Pretty concerned with the super low spin on these. They don’t seem very playable for a better player with some swing speed.

Fit.. only if you get the right fitter who cares. Which 90% dont. Study the products and fit yourself, youll be 110% more happier with more confidence on the course. I've learned my lesson and its a waste of time and investment.

I have these, and I’m a 11hc. I find them very forgiving so your best bet would be to go and have a hit with them in a fitting😊
