Unless it's your children I'm guessing. There's a reason many laws and sentences are the way that they are. Often the harshest sentences aren't the deterrent people think they'll be. If you imprisoned every youth that fell foul of the law a number would be frightened and never do it again but more would be embittered and more criminalsied and eager to do the same again and more. If you believe this type of offending deserves a custodial sentence then millions and millions of people, a majority of the population would have been in prison at some point In their life.
