There's something more going on between the defense attorney and her jack_ss deuchbag of a client, because WHY would she stick her neck that far, she went as far as questioning the judge about following procedure. She was a stand-in for the dipsh_t that day, and practically got on her knee begging for the jail time to be lifted. All that for a 100% loosing case! COLLEGE STUDENT: 1964 Plymouth Valiant won't pass smog. Registration expires in June. June and September both have yellow registration tags. Student carefully removes tag, uses an exacto knife and a sharpie to turn the 6 into a 9, and reaffixes said tag. Before September arrives, student saws off muffler and gets a smog exemption. Elated by her success, student devotes herself to a life of crime by marrying a law student and conducting psych evaluations.

@@destroyerinazuma96 it’s absolutely a viscous cycle, but I’ve seen judges and prosecutors go to great extents to help people out by offering generous plea deals, waiving fines, etc.. @@destroyerinazuma96 I understand, in part, what you’re saying. Poverty is expensive-payday loans, weekly motels & evictions, citations & fines, bad check charges, etc.-and sometimes impossible to climb out of. I understand how poverty shapes both advocacy and avolition. What I don’t understand is how poverty has created this ideology we now know as sovereign citizenry, an ideology that now appeals to folks who seem to have some disposable income. This entire video I’ve been worried the judge would give in because I’ve seen it so much. Leniency does no prevent unwanted behavior, consequences do. The more chances our legal system gives to unremorseful unrepentant defendants, the more issues we will have. This SovCit nonsense is a perfect example. Only now that it has become a much bigger issue are judges starting to stand their ground. Even if you only consider the time these SovCit defendants take away from the court and all it’s employees, it must be extremely expensive to the taxpayers. But judges and public defendants spend literal hours trying to talk sense into them or just to get a word or two in edgewise. They are allowed to not properly identify and pretend they aren’t the defendant instead of just getting an immediate bench warrant. They get way too many contempt warnings and too few contempt charges. I’m glad this judge stood his ground as the public defender was really trying to wear him down!

I get the lawyer going to bat for the defendant, but can you imagine the message it would send if the Judge reduced the sentence. Ignoring all the sovcidiot nonsense, if people thought they could get sentenced and then just not show up, and over a year later argue that the jail should be reduced for "judicial economy," why wouldnt every defendant try to do that? Just don't show up to jail, wait the judge out.

Wayne County jail dude got himself a 30 day contempt charge for spouting this nonsense (and pissing off the judge) in a previous hearing. He's continuing along the same path now, expecting a different outcome. Someone or other rather famous once described that as the definition of insanity..

My guess is that she attended a shitty law school where she would win arguments - but has zero experience to even be self aware enough to shut it. The judge didn’t do her any favors by not giving a contempt warning - which is how someone like her can actually grow. He’s a good judge but needs to work on managing his courtroom

@@donramanayake1505 It’s kind of adorable to hear you share what your imagination tells you courtroom decorum or the US adversarial system might be like! I encourage you to keep exploring - whether you’re still in high school or if you’ve already graduated, perhaps your local community college offers a comparative law class you could take. You’ll learn life in the courtroom is a little different from how you imagined it, but you’ll learn a lot and maybe even develop a better understanding of the basics of court decorum, to help you process what the rest of us are seeing in videos like these. Keep striving ✨
