Agree on documentation. But there are definitely scenarios where a tenant can and should withhold rent…depending on the state you live in. Some states only allow tenants to pay for repairs using rent money when the landlord fails to make repairs. Some states require, or strongly recommend, you put rent payments in escrow…which helps show you’re not just trying to skip out on paying rent.

The judge cant give you a Cliffs Notes version of law school or courtroom procedures so many people depend on advice from sidewalk or jailhouse lawyers who tell them what they want to hear.

Yeah, I don't know what makes people think they need to use 'courtspeak' once in front of a judge, but they either: a) use the wrong term - "Judge, you need to accuse yourself" (of what? or did you mean 'recuse'?) or b) mispronounce the term - "I got an un-uh-LEEN-uh-bul right" (The root of unalienable is 'alien', not 'lien'! There's no such thing as an illegal "uh-LEEN") or, as in THIS case, c) misuse a term completely - "I have been in a very horrible assaultive position..." (Yeah? Who did you attack?) d) completely make up a phrase that no one else uses - "something kinda got jangled up..." (Like Bob Dylan's famous song "Jangled Up In Blue" 😆) and "spring and summer came to fruition" (NO ONE would normally say that)

A month to month means at any time you can be evicted with 30 days notice or you can give 30 days notice and move. She said month to month so many times like it gives her long term protection. Also, if her lease expired it will have language that it will automatically default to a month to month so no additional paperwork was required. I would've lost my mind with that woman.

I inferred that she was withholding rent because she wasn't given a "sheet of paper." Month to month tenancy is usually standard language in a lease. Once the term is up, you can renew or go month to month.

Tylenol is not enough Blood pressure meds is a must Ps, fun fact, they have found a link between elevated blood pressure and PTSD (specifically, nightmares related to it) and that certain blood pressure meds can help decrease frequency of PTSD nightmares (not sure how it decreases daytime flashbacks but I'm sure it does cause I noticed difference if I am late taking a dose) And intense therapy and masssagez to help with tension headaches

She was literally telling the judge that she has been stuck in this eviction for a long time (appearing before him twice) she doesn't want to be held in contempt, but she knows the guy will tell the Judge whatever he wants to hear meanwhile not pay her a dime and cost her possible tenants!

I wanted more Judge Simpson but if he has to go through all of that to get on LTWM I’d rather him have a dang break. That last appearance was on a different level. When pronouns are in doubt it is safe and costs nothing to be kind and say “they”. But “they” were totally inappropriate to the judge. They are likely harassed and discriminated against on a daily basis but Cedric the Adjudicator did nothing wrong on purpose. As a qu**r person even I make mistakes sometimes. No need to get so offended due to a simple mistake :)

Different languages offer different pronoun options . Germanic languages seem to be the most restrictive. If you CARE, grow up and write new words. Have a new thought.
