Watched this last night and it's still holds up! Fun Fact: Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit which looked like a giant mutated lizard insect hybrid. He even wanted to kickbox Arnold but the producers refused. Kevin Peter Hall, 7'2" was cast instead respectively, as he was more of an intimidating opponent for Arnold's character Dutch. Half the cast and crew got food poisoning except for Arnold and Director McTiernan whom ate Spaghetti O's and PBJ Sandwiches. Sonny Landham RIP whom played Billy, hired a bodyguard to protect people from him as he was prone to violent outbursts. He even said in an interview that, "We weren't making a movie, this was a survival story for all of us." It rained for 2 weeks, making filming more difficult. It was 110 degrees in the shade while it was 42 degrees at night.

Van Damme was fired, released, or let go because he was complaining about the stunts that was required while wearing very top heavy Predator suit. He was also struggling with hydration. The movie people also used a stunt person after Van Damme was gone. Who then hurt himself doing one of the stunts while wearing the suit. After that, they got Kevin Peter Hall and redesigned the suit.

Fact #1: When the Yautja, official Predator fan name for the species, leave skinned victims, it’s designated to scare away others and mark its territory. After that, any quarry is fair game. Fact #2: Mud does actually conceal body heat. But it only last for so long. Fact #3: The late Kevin Peter Hall stood taller at around 7’2. Like your reactions. Please watch the criminally underrated Predator 2. If you are really intrigued with the Yautja, check out another KZbin channel called Schizofenik.
@chiefsteps-in-poo84472 жыл бұрын
OK, if the Predator skinned his victims to mark his territory and scare away others, since he kills people I would think he's using those bodies as bait to lure other trophies in. A hunter doesn't push his prey away, he draws them closer to him. I've done a little deer hunting in my time and you don't put buck urine in the rut (mating season) leading deer away from your stand. You put it around his scrape (kinda like a calling card for does) to lure bucks around that area. And when mating season is over your best trick to use is a food plot (a piece of land with deers favorite food on it, corn, rye grass, etc.). I really could go on for hours about this but I think I got my point across. Unless you know more than me about tricks hunters use to draw in what they're hunting. Maybe a comic book written by someone who's never been hunting therefore knows absolutely nothing about what he's doing. Not trying to pick a fight with you, just sharing some knowledge.

1- I love the way you say pred-A-tor. 2- Billy, the Indian tracker, cut his chest because some tribes cut themselves so the enemy wouldn't be able to draw first blood. That's about the only things you guys didn't understand in this movie. I especially liked how you knew at the end why the Predator took off all of his weapons to fight Arnold barehanded. You won't believe how many Americans I had to explain this movie to. Funny how 2 people NOT born in this country understand an American movie better than some Americans do.

they filmed this in mexico. the cast and crew stayed at hotels that had special water filters in the hotel so they could all safely drink the water. well, the filters at one of the hotels broke down and they didn't know it and made the cast and a lot of the crew sick with a bad case of traveler's diarrhea. as you can imagine... this created a humorous situation on set... 6 badass, jacked out, alpha males holding their britches as they scurry off to the bathrooms in between takes of high octane, testosterone fueled action sequences.

The camouflage and shoulder cannon are tools, not really cowardice. Not any difference than a deer hunter using camouflage and a bow. The lower trophies are just skinned, the more worthy ones are taken and displayed in their trophy room (you see one in Predator 2). The more dangerous the kill, the greater the honor, and greater prestige in their society as a hunter.
