Yes that's the same exact gun From the movie you just watched predator 2 ..This predator is feral and Inexperienced as it gets more hunts and Experience they will upgrade their weaponry.. I believe there is a version where all the Comanche speak exclusively in their native language too, which is a nice addition. Also, far as I remember, according to the lore, the Predators are honorbound to (roughly) match the technological level of their prey, with the exception of their camouflage. Anyhow, Great reaction, hope to see you react to Alien vs Predator 1 and 2, as well as the Predators movie and the Alien movies as well! Oh, and I would like to recommend Silverado as well, though that has nothing to do with this franchise (I just have a soft spot for that movie, it has such an excellent soundtrack!)

The predator tech wasn't to match the level of the locals but it is 300 years before the first film so the predator tech is more primitive

@@michaelhughes838 Well, other sources state that the Predators always have to use weapons that are not at an overwhelmingly higher level of technology than their prey, as a matter of honour, to give their prey a fighting chance, and themselves a challenge. A lot of these hunts are undertaken as a rite of passage, and so they cannot be too easy and risk-free. Besides, the AvP Antarctica pyramid was thousands of years old, so the predators have had their tech for a long, LONG time...wherever they got it from. That's the lore anyhow (in reality, I suppose it just makes for a more interesting plot xD )

one of the great things about the movie, the female hero here is weaker than the men and no experience but she persevered and used her brains more and kept training and eventually got better. they didnt show her to be good from the very begining.

That spear was also used in the first movie too. Its originally what hits Blain (the guy with the mini gun) but because the Jungle Hunters aim was off, he was only wounded not killed, it then used the plasma caster to finish the job. Odds are the Jungle Hunter had the ability to use the same weapons as the City Hunter just did not use all of them.

The origin is different involving that gun. A Predator (Yautja) by the name of Greyback came to earth during that same time period as a lone hunter and came across pirates. One, in particular, caught his interest named Raphael Adolini. His crew turned on him because they wanted to rob a church of its gold and he wasn't having it. The Predator briefly aided Adolini before they started to square up with each other. Adolini gets shot from behind by a pirate that was hiding robbing the Predator of his kill and the Predator kills that pirate. Before Adolini kills over he hands the Predator his gun and says "Take it". The Predator out of respect left his weapon with his body and repeats "Take it"

Yes, there is a Comanche language version, which the director intended the movie to be watched in the indigenous language. Great movie. I'm Native (Navajo), and it's great to see indigenous representation in major films especially when they're the lead characters.

Nice reaction, I’m glad you guys enjoyed it, because I think it’s a worthy addition to the Predator franchise. It has a few dodgy CGI moments that took me out of it a little bit, but a good story, good writing, good direction, good action, fantastic scenery. I really enjoyed it.

I believe the only CGI they use were the animals and the invisibility effect and the spaceship. The Predator himself is an actor in a prosthetic suit and an animatronic head mask. Which part took u out of it? Probably the same one that i thought as well.

@@markcruz359 I didn’t like the deer near the start, the mountain lion, or the bear in the water, all for the same reasons, in some shots they were just moving way too fast and looking too weightless. In some shots the predator is also too fast and weightless, in particular when leaping between trees and they don’t react to his weight at all! It’s very inconsistent though, some shots look great, some shots look a bit too rushed and unfinished, all in the same scene, but thankfully the well thought out story, acting and the lovely scenery carried me through it all anyway, it just bugged me because I kept stopping seeing the action and instead seeing a digital effect and suddenly all the threat was gone. Shame, but I still enjoyed it.

@@Lumibear. yeh i agree a lot of CGI lately is missing that weight factor. Had the same issue with She-Hulk, it seemed like she was floating as she walked. I remember back in animation school days when we had to animate a ball. But for the human figure i guess its hard to translate that across. Do you remember that scene in game of thrones when Dany landed the dragon in the Dragon Pit? You can literally feel the weight and the gust of wind from the wings. I hope the upcoming Avatar sequels will show all these other CGI company how its done

@@markcruz359 For modern examples I recommend The Sandman for how to do CGI right, particularly the crow, that thing is stunning, I couldn’t stop staring at it. Also, Love And Monsters, 2020, it’s a bit stylised and cartoony, but those monsters are THERE, they have weight, threat, and they can do you harm. The Avatar sequel I just hope revives 3D because personally I love it, real life is 3D so I want my entertainment to be also, modern 3D cinema should be as engaging as VR is except you’re not in control, yes please.

That scene when the predator throws the trap at the guy makes me laugh every time one reason being I've done the same thing to a scumbag that was setting up those type of traps (which are illegal to begin with) on a hiking trail as well as leaving traps abandoned with animals left to die slowly. Only difference is that the one I threw snapped on the guy's arm instead of on his head.

The feral most likely killed Raphael (the translator guy) because he screamed. Before, when the indians attacked him - whenever they screamed, they attacked so he probably thought that his screaming meant he was about to attack.

Glad you guys liked this. A lot of huge Predator fans like the movie "Predators" from 2010. Its not a super well written movie. But the Predator lore and fights were liked a lot. Worth a watch. id recommend it if you enjoyed these!

Folks,this film early was supposed to be in 1719 or so, northern America. Part of Canada region. Cherokee / Souix and Schoschoni Territory"s among some other Tribes. French Trappers were among the First Europeans.along later came the English. SFC.D.WILSON U.S Airborne Rangers / Cavalry-SPFOR ret.

"It looks primitive"....well of course it does! This is set over 250 years before the original. Humans advanced in that time, so why are people surprised that the Predators did as well? I have heard some people were disappointed the Predator in this didn't have the high tech weapons from the first movie. What a bunch of dimwits! 🙄

This predator was a part of the same tribe as the City Hunter (Ghost) one of two things could happen Naru could give it to "Greyback" the way he gives it to Harrigan in Predator 2 or they saw what she pulled shooting the Feral in the back of the head and took her out as it was a dirty move. Had Harrigan done something like that in Predator 2 he would not have received the gun. Originally in the comics "greyback" got the gun from a pirate captain he helped end a mutiny against. Like in 1987's predator the 2 were going to face off against each other in a one on one fight but before that could happen a surviving crew member shot the captain in the back. The pirate then presented the pistol to "Greyback" his last words being Take it.

No its clearly not of the same clan/tribe as City Hunter and Greyback. It looks totally different from them in both its attire and physical appearance. Besides developer confirmed the ones from previous movies are from jungle regions of the home planet, while this one is from a desert region. Totally can't be from the same clan.

In the fight with Dutch the first thing the Jungle Hunter removed was the Plasma Caster. The Yautja code says only worthy prey that can stand a small to defend itself can be taken. If that target looks to go head on one on one or is truly worthy prey the Yautja will do exactly what the Jungle Hunter did. In some of the comics there are also fights between a Yautja tribe and Civil war soldiers where they face off one on one. Both sides look on during it but neither side intervening on behave of their fighter should he be losing. A officer that proved his worth defeating his opponent if I remember correctly holding the rank of Capt. (O3) actually goes with the clan and teaches them his methods of fighting with honor. One of the books has a Yautja face off in a fight against a Alaska Game Warden who originally thinks is tracking poachers. There is a Samari styled predator who hunted in feudal Japan, its bio mask is made to look like that of a Samari warriors.

Adam Hauger - Predator's shoulder weapon fired darts/arrows, whatever you want to call them, that were essentially guided missiles, even better than guided missiles. They would strike wherever the three laser beams were pointed that were part of its face shield targeting system. When Naru shot Predator in the back of the head with the pistol, its face shield came off and she took it. You didn't see her do it, but she mounted that face shield between rocks that were to the side of the muddy bog. As part of her plan, she had to lure Predator to that very spot and needed to get Predator to use the shoulder weapon against her. When Predator fired at her, the targeting system in the face shield (mounted between the rocks) activated and the laser lights were pointed at its own head. Predator had to be standing exactly where it was to be hit. One foot forwards or backwards, and the shot would have missed. Amazing how an Indian who had never even seen iron before figured out how the weapons system of Predator worked. You liked the movie. I didn't. This movie looks pretty but its as believable as a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
