The tire tread design is basically an exact copy of the Traxxas Canyon Trail that comes stock on TRX-4. Also I can't help but notice a ton of similarities to the CrossRC Emo X line. This includes that rear lateral arm suspension design. That's certainly a good thing as the Emo X has been an excellent product and we run our original X and X3 all the time. If a brand is going to mimic another then it's good to see it be a high quality brand.

Just FYI, that thing on the rear axle isn't an anti-sway bar. It's a Watts Link and its purpose is to help locate the axle laterally so it doesn't move side to side while the vehicle is moving.
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
I'm not sure I quite agree with that. First of all the suspension already is four linked which means it's constrained laterally and the WattsLink geometry is a little bit different. What's links tend to always have the bell crank on the axle and the other end of the arms attached to the chassis not the other way around. It's possible they had the same goal in mind with this but since the pivots are So far out of alignment I'm not sure it would really achieve that goal and I don't know why they would do that since it's already four linked. In feeling it it does seem to give anti-sway tendency with its geometry but You could be right. They may have been going for a WattsLink setup but they certainly didn't set it up the way that it normally is.

Not really. The sensored system uses physical sensors to detect the position of the rotor as opposed to using what's known as back EMF to kind of guess where the rotor is. Is that why we use dog bones in the rear of RCs , they are stronger ?

No. Dog bones are used in the rear because they can get away with it and they're cheaper. Because you don't have the steering angles like you do in the front the dog bone style joint is effective. If you use it in the front the dog bone will tend to fall out. On a solid axle truck normally the rear axles are just solid chunks of steel again for cost savings and because you just don't need the swiveling capability of a universal. In this case they're using them just because it reduces the parts count and I guess they determined that way was cheaper than having two different parts for the front and rear.
@RcPlayer-tt2vw3 ай бұрын
@@DoRC thanks I always wondered why they weren’t used in the rear , cost is one thing but you think if it’s better we would do it as a upgrade or a company trying to one up the competition. I’ve seen guys do it with the typhon , probably be smoother , be cool have center driveshaft a cvd 😆
