MJX Motoblog - Isle of Skye Trip - PART 4 - Suzuki Vstrom 650

Part 4 of our Skye trip covering the route between Dunvegan and Applecross with photo stops at Quiraing Pass and Kilt Rock and a ride past the Old Man of Storr. Final part of the ride was the Applecross Pass, which was quite treacherous at the top. As it was quite late, we had the pass to ourselves and were rewarded with the most spectacular sunset and god rays on our descent into the village of Applecross. Finally, we pitch our tents at the campsite an make our way to the Applecross Inn for some well deserved dinner and pints!

The gopro didn't do it any justice. It really was spectacular! And going up, somehow the camera makes it look a lot 'milder' than it really was... go figure... either way, we had the whole pass to ourselves, not a single vehicle/person there, which was a pleasant experience itself!

That was some ride guys . Hard core but it must’ve been great . I’m tiered just thinking about the walk to the Fairy Pools .

Well guys did 1050 miles oban.. mull. right around top back through cairngorms on roads not been on...lap of mull was my best ever Scottish ride 12/10 wow....vstrom 1050 absolutely brilliant among the hordes of gs's africa twins AND campervan my pal dos have a GS ...ps awsome film of skye brill👍👌cheers from dave

Sound awesome! Going up north for a few days at the end of the month, part of the trip will be Cairngorms as well. Really looking forward to it. Been before lots of times but never on my bike. We're jus back from the Lake District and it was really busy as well. As you said, hordes of GSs and campervans! Thanks buddy, I'm really glad you liked it! 👍🏻😁👍🏻

Fun videos mate and love the V Strom, I have been looking at the same bike, unsure whether to get the 1050 or the 650, but my short legs and age tends me towards the 650. I do have a Suzuki Boulevard M109R which I commute with, but gonna leave that for the club rides. Are you from Haddington? kinda looks like that in the videos. Im from East Linton originally and moved to Australia in 2008 for a change of life. I used to work with First Bus based at North Berwick depot, however im in the prison service here in Victoria.. Over here it is riding weather 24/7 which suits me fine and glad I made the move, however I love your local videos as it is nice to see what changes have taken place,,, Keep up the good work mate,,, Biker Dan

Hi buddy, thank you! Glad you like the videos! Have you tried both? I keep saying to people, go try the 650 and you might be surprised. Not as powerful as 1000/1050 obviously but coming from a cruiser, you'll find that the available power to weight ratio is more than sufficient! Then if you think 650 isn't enough, go for the bigger one... I've a VS1400 in the garage as well and truth be told, not a lot of difference power wise between the two. The VS is nearly twice as heavy! Yes, I'm from Haddington! That's awesome, really envy your weather. As you obvioisly know, it's wet and miserable here quite a lot. Spent 3 weeks touring Europe and Alps last year, not a single drop of rain. Great riding, miss it a lot. Here, you need waterproof kit all the time! Yes, NB is getting bigger, they continue to build houses in all East Lothian towns. East Lothian has changed massively since 2008, which coincidentally was when I moved here! Thanks again, more videos coming. I think I'm starting to actually know what I'm doing with that gopro now 🤣🤣. All trial and error really. Take care and ride safe!
