This version of Bi-Han is extremely focused on being Grandmaster, believes he alone knows best for the Lin Kuei and is clearly sensitive to having his authority challenged or undermined. It would be humiliating, in that position, to have your authority rejected by the person who knows you best. (And, in your mind, the person who has a duty to unquestioningly support you just like you have a duty to lead the Lin Kuei.) When that happens, you have to really double down on treating that person as an enemy rather than considering (or allowing anyone else to consider) that they have a point.

Bi Han doesn't hate his brother, it's the opposite. He loves Kuai, always loved Kuai, continues to do so. However, he's blinded by his rage and his grandeur. He thought that Kuai would follow his lead (theres a clash quote between them where Bi Han says he would have liked Kuai to be by his side, a point Kuai rejected, of course) He's mad that Kuai left him and finds it unforgivable that they have to be separated-or worse, mad that Tomas took him away from him
