West Coast Railways 47245 & 45212 hauling a rake of MK2 coaches departing Lockerbie loop and passing through the station working Carnforth Steamtown to Crianlarich on the 13th of April 2024.

Air con Mk2's. So they will need either a generator coach or a diesel in tow to power them. Is 45212 air brake fitted?

This is only a train movement over the Jacobite line so WCR don’t lose their future slots on the line. The CDL issue still to be resolved?

There's 4 CDL fitted mk2 coaches in there so presumably they found some to rustle up for it, it's running in passanger service.

So the train is getting new coaches? I guess MK2s have those door locks the officials were making a fuss about?

​@AprilFool91 railways have existed for over 150 years with people taking responsibility for not falling out of trains. Too much elf'n safety IS a fuss.

As an onlooker from Australia I've been wondering what they were going to do to sort the problem out !

@@thomasarmstrong3804 The last I heard was they were going back to court to appeal against the rail regulators saying it will cost the tourist industry 50 million pounds if they cannot run. No mention of fitting the door locks they have known about being required in future for over 20 years

@@brianwillson9567 there were a number of deaths though across the years as a result of people opening doors mid journey, hence the reason why central door locking was made a requirement. I don't really see why charter operators feel they ought to be exempt from general safety rules.
