I built mine just like this one but after flight tests I changed the servo arms to point forward rather than back to give less movement of the wing and a slightly more precise movement. Mine will roll, loop, bunt and fly inverted for ever. It is absolutely lovely to fly.Very pleased indeed.

On the main wing tube spar you cut the outer sleeve into 3 pieces and you use 4 washers to hold the the wings from sliding off the inner spar? I am in the process of building one and have never done a pitcheron set up. Seems like a awesome lil glider and a fun project. Thanks for this tutorial, if you have any tips please advise... Have a great day!

@@RcAircraft Thank you, I have watched it several times and the part that is not clear is the wing spar and sleeve as I described but thank you I will figure it out for sure. Happy RC'ing!
@RcAircraft Жыл бұрын
@@mikesrcgarage Hi, wing sparr has three sleeves that rotate around the main sparr. So that the cut out slot is the same dimension the full length, the end washers are to stop the sleeves coming off the spare. And three of them in case you accidentally glue one of the sleeves to the spar. Hope that explains the reason for building that way.

Curious as to the sheer Size of your Bat eliminator... Bigger than the Battery and Triple the size of the Rx. A very odd choice.
@RcAircraft2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting.The Battery Eliminator in the video is one I had to hand and is the same size as the battery which is also small. 2:50 shows a 3amp Ubec which is about the smallest I can find. However if you use high voltage servos and receiver you do not Need a Ubec. Note later in the video you can not see the Ubec as it is under the battery!

I am in Australia so cant find these gliders but i did find one that is remakably similar so am going to try this concept ..... The one i have has a C of G at 70mm back from the leading edge at the fuselage join when flown as a chuck glider. Does the pitcheron pivot point need to be installed at some "relationship" to the C of G. I noticed in your video that the pivot point is behind the C of G.Luckily I can get a whole bunch of them pretty cheap for some trial and error. Great video by the way .... Subtitles are excellent ...
@RcAircraft2 жыл бұрын
Hi, and thanks for your comments. Yes the pivot point is behind the C of G. as this gives better loops and when flying on a slope you need a more forward CoG to keep the model falling down the hill as the up lift will push it up.Take some spare lead weight with you so you can move the CoG point back or forth to your liking. Have fun 👍

What are your thoughts on taking the dihedral out of the wing?. I have copied this pitcheron design and find that elevator works but if your not careful it is easy to induce a stall, I think that this might be caused by drag from the wing while using the elevator. I was wondering if flattening the wing would help.
@RcAircraft3 жыл бұрын
This is a copy of the Mk1 Lidl Glider and I do not have any problems with the Mk1 version it flies great. Unfortunately the wind direction has not been favorable for my local hills, so I am still waiting for the opportunity to fly them both and do a comparison. I did flatten out the wings on a powered version and that was less stable. If you was trying to perform a loop and induced a stall then possible air speed too low or CoG needs moving forward. Hope that helps for now. 👍
@meljones70663 жыл бұрын
