Mr Hewes sent me over here ✌️ Retired 73 year old master MB and BMW technician watching from New HampShire 🇺🇸 Love watching other blokes bashing their knuckles and bathing in nasty lubricants. Crack on. Bob's yer Uncle 👍

Ben o Cam, Mr Hewes, Marty T, Tanks-a -Lot, Lord Muck and Armourgeddon are my heavy plant/tractor/tank restoration KZbinrs. They keep me topped up with mechanical goodness. Great Video Ben.

Nice to see them getting the attention they deserve. I've watched them sit in a field for years, covered in brambles

stalwarts and bedford TKs were great to keep us poor skint squaddies civi cars on the road although the guard duties we had to do to acquire said fuel was crap.... ex 27 lsg regt, 7 sqn

Glad to see a diesel going in , I thing the rolls engine was its demise specially when carrying petrol , combined with manifold that glows cherry red on full chat , 🙂👍

Cheers, I know a lot won’t agree but I really think it makes them a much more useable vehicle. Running them on premium unleaded has got rather expensive these days !

@@BenoCam Was thinking the same thing, out of interest how does the power output of the Bedford engine compare with the Rolls Royce?
@CiaranInIreland3 ай бұрын
As the D1 is above the licence plate it may refer the to Driving Licence category I think.

You can buy one pretty cheap there’s usually a few kicking about. It’s the space and the equipment needed to work on them that makes them so limiting.

Interesting Hollywood factoid: A Stolly (in a slightly altered configuration) appears in the opening scene of episode one of Firefly - a Sci-Fi series that lasted 14 episodes on Fox Television in the US way back in 2002

I have an Atlas mini digger too, it’s quite old… from 1997! They didn’t make them for long. It’s a R404. You don’t see many of them about but you still see a lot of their cranes.

So glad your doing a diesel swap i would have used a 6.7 Cummins 6bt
@BenoCam7 ай бұрын
That would be a lovely engine but I wouldn’t know where to get a converter plate made/copied to connect it onto the stolly gearbox
@marknewell73557 ай бұрын
@BenoCam this is the dream project for if only I had the space if did get the chance I would have gone down the route of the 6bt either 6.7 or 8.3 been a while since I've seen a bedford engine but their bell housing are not too far off the 6bt my thinking was to use a SAE bellhousing adapter but having never had the thing to look at could be way off but there is loads of companies online that will build you one to fit the engine and gearbox you choose just come down to budget but the 500 isn't a bad engine just old and not many parts perkins Cummins are still pretty much still in plant and machinery also trucks so there is plenty of parts to go at. Thanks for the reply will be watching regardless mate
@marknewell73557 ай бұрын
I think the L10 and 8.3 Cummins are the same bellhousing as the bedford turbo 500 they all was used in a the bedford TM with the Heaton and fuller gearbox
