Mk4 cams get out of the power band a little over 4k. 262 cams power band is from idle to red line. I have 262 cams, magna flow cat back w res deleted, unitronic stage 2 cam profile chip and a cai. 7200rpm red line. Mk4 Jetta.

Having a strait pipe would make a diffrents and I agree about Greg's cams he could have bigger ones but want tell till u try strait pipes. Good work u two now I want to do mine! Lol I'm going to strait pipe mine as well love the VR sound!

The 262's sound buttery smooth, IMO it sounds better then the MK4 cams.

Correct me if im wrong, but once bigger cams are installed don’t you need a tune for the specific cam? Maybe after a chip tune it’ll give it that lope

It does sound better with the 262 in it's really hard to hear it but u can hear a difference

82 WERK I tried and tried for like 30min just kept adjusting and adjusting and now that I have reverse my 2nd gear is super tight. I’ll keep messing with it until my new stuff comes

What size is your exhaust as compared to Greg's? could be his is bigger, lol, less backpressure would give it more loopy idle sound. That is why his got more so after removing the rear muffler. Maybe..

Chappy Oatagaurd I have the same setup mostly as Greg but his is straight piped all the way out and I have a muffler but we are starting to think Greg has larger cams then 262 lol

On a scale 1-10 how difficult is the job to replace cams in these? I have the 24v but should be the same routine. Plan on 264/260 for my car. Also any other extra parts that I should replace while doing them?

john moser you don’t need HD springs for 262 cams. Usually for 268 or bigger.

I think you could try to adjust your shifter Chris. I have a really good writeup, I've uploaded it here. data.hu/get/11649652/shifteradjustment.txt?fbclid=IwAR3V3c0do7Yo0w3wpphHLZ8n6S57yFfWUtIvbtZuAANAsIjdo5OtRWUQ1wQ All your shifter bushings etc are new, so it should help to properly adjust it. Or at least worth a try, before spending another chunk for an O2J update or anything.

I think it might also be because the car had sat overnight for the first start up. Either way the car runs better now so im happy and my chip is coming so we will see how that effects it.
