It's been quite awhile but we finally were able to snag a set of multi piece wheels from the junkyard! BBS RS771's in amazing condition! Hyped for this score!

They are RS771's, mk3 anniversary ones are 7j wide instead of 6.5.. I run a set of anniversary ones on my mk2 vrt, polished lip and gold faces, suit the alpine white perfectly!

RS772 are the 7J. RS771 are 6.5J.

And in case you want to have more offset, you have the RS794, they come in 16x7 +38 but they are pretty rare to comeby.

I found the same wheels at the junk yard for my old mk4 Jetta while looking for a fender picked them up quick!!!! Miss my Jetta but my mk6 golf is great

Awesome find I just found a set with an almost identical design but in 18s. Like you said they have curb rash like most and peeling clear but overall going to be a fun project for my first wheel restoration for some nice mk7R OEM+ looking wheels when not running my racing wheels

I run these on my subie. They were a pain in the butt to restore though. They were so corroded from salty winter roads, and I snapped the heads off a few of the titanium bolts. Had to bring it to a shop and have them get drilled out, because I wasn’t going to risk messing them up any worse.

10:19......My '03 GLS 1.8T came from Coral Gables or Coral Springs..(if Gunther was around 20+ years ago then..yes) It was seized/repossessed from original owner for unknown reasons sold at auction in Florida and made it's way up the coast to the Fredricksburg Auto Auction and then ended up on my cousin's lot in Madison, Virginia...(this is 10yrs ago this past January)....I bought the Jetta from my brother after he had it 6mo....it being an original Florida vehicle...IT HAS NEVER HAD IT'S FRONT BUMPER DRILLED FOR PLATE MOUNTS!!!!!...NEVER!!!...The state of Virginia (notice I didn't say GREAT) has been a 2 plate state since before 1948 or around 1950.......I've been pulled up here in Richmond more than a few times even once by State Police...and I vehemently proclaim that I refuse to drill holes into my investment...the plate is in the right front corner of the windshield EXTREMELY VISIBLE plus for the fact that if I'm being pulled..they are in FULL VIEW OF MY REAR PLATE... so after 70+ years......shit is finally getting contested..........(not all of us up here in RICHMOND need a damn yellow "DONT TREAD ON ME PLATE"....to speak it truly... to the FACE OF THE LAW!!!..) -"Dre' The Cajun"- DES ALLEMANDS BAYOU CANE.......... find me in the 804

Another trick to get the stuck lugnuts to come loose when you can’t put on the e-brake or have another to hit the brakes is to tighten up the 2 lug bolts/nuts next to it That spreads out the amount of flex of the wheel holding the one lug bolt/nut on, and makes it easier to remove That’s why its a good idea to always JUST break all the lugnuts loose, before removing them all if all you have is a hand wrench/breaker bar or a weak impact gun

Ive got the exact same RS771 set, yours look like brand new compared to how mine looked when I got them. Took me a week of sanding and polishing the lips to get them back to decent looking, repainted the hearts to a slightly different color to improve the contrast betweeen high-gloss polished lips and the hearts. Too bad these have a horrible weak (ET43)offset and are very narrow, they just don`t do it for me on my project, even with spacers they just dont look right, and they are now sitting unused in my shed waiting to get swapped or sold off

its crazy how much they look like the mini cooper bbs oem wheels. its the same exact design from the looks of it just in a 17x7 +48? cant remember the off set. but yeah there are 2 that i know of for the first gen minis r50-r53 generation that had 2 piece bbs wheels. the one that looks like this are called r90's and then thers the r98's which are the ones that i have. whats funny is they have exact same issues. clear coat failure on the lips most have some rash. mine have some rash and clear coat failure and some how a gouge in the side of one of the spokes. at one point id love to send them off to be rebuilt and refubed into 17x7.5 in front and 17x8 in rear with around a 35 offset. oem bbs wheels are suttle but so bad ass.they also can take a hell of a hit and still be fine.

Those came standard on the mk4 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. They made those in 2001 and 2004 (different editions). The car you pulled them from was a 2.0 and all wolfsburgs were 1.8t. Therefore, the owner of that mk4 either bought them from someone or stole them 😂 I had an 01 galactic blue Wolfsburg that I miss every day

If I recall correctly the rxii’s were not options because they were specific to the Wolfsburg edition. At least in the US.

Be careful with those titanium bolts. Soak them in penetrant and brakleen to make them easier to remove. I'm working on some w8 2 piece wheels currently snapped two

These are 2 pieces, only the face come off, you would need to cut and weld some piece of aluminum to get a wider lip

They came on the MK3 and MK4 the came on the 25 th aniversary Volkswagen on the MK3 GTi and GTI TDI and same models on the MK4 if im not wrong

seeing America has the BBS RX .. 1J0 601 025BB . there the one piece version of the Rx2/771 and there always and only Mk4 market.. Rs772 is 20Jahre mk3 only spec and wider
