I've had my jetta a week now. Also a 1.8t. It's getting stage 1 tuned Tuesday 😆 Thank you for showing me the way! Also picked up the cts turbo intake. I have to get the low torque stage 1 until I get the dsg stage 1. But the shop that's doing it told me they will reflash it with the high torque when they install the dsg next paycheck. Can't wait to see what a difference it makes first hand. Thanks for all the awesome content man.

Do an extra oil change, make sure good spec/brand oil. One of your best upgrades is a set of tires that excel in wet weather (everything works in dry) so you can actually stop when you slam on your brakes.
@minnesnowtan99704 ай бұрын
Regarding oil changes: Ask the question How long should your car last? Owners say 200-300k miles Mfrs say until warranty expires (some), or 100k miles. So if Manufacturer says 10k mile oil change but all the well versed car people say 5k miles or 6 months, do it more often. Even when you "drain the oil" you never drain all the oil, and there is nasty dirty oil near your valves and in small passageways. Nothing we can do about it, put in clean oil. The solution to pollution is dilution. What would it cost to buy more VW spec oil and filter and change it? It extends life of VVT (variable valve timing). Maybe pay for an extra oil change as a performance and longer life "mod".

I know I want an exhaust too...is there a dual exit I can get that will pass emissions test in CA? . . What order should I do it in.... exhaust or tune first? And is a downpipe/bov and all that necessary? ... Thanks for any info
@edwinruizcolon57072 жыл бұрын
@@andrewlupoli1567 yes. Stage 1 is ok with intake and catback. If you go turbo back ( catback + downpipe) then you need stage 2.
@edwinruizcolon57072 жыл бұрын
@@andrewlupoli1567 you can do as much as you want. Bov is not needed for stage 1 or 2. I did intake catback and stage 1 on my 2015 1.8t. Real noticeable gains came after the stage 1. Feels like a different car. Again intake is recommended with stage 1 and it gives noticeable gains when paired together. Just intake you will get some nice turbo sounds. The Downpipe helps to remove restrictions in exhaust gases flow. To optimize these new flow you need a stage 2. Catback gives you sound while removing some weight.

Hey, quick question, :) I have a 2014 VW Jetta TDI automatic Stock. I am considering a Stage 2 DPF removal. Would you say the power is noticeable? IS stage 1 better or stage 2? How much louder is the exhaust? Should I keep the original exhaust? Dealer is saying currently stock is 133HP, 225torque, if upgraded to Stage 2 163HP, 295 torque. True? Thanks for your input since you have the experience :)) Any downsides to the upgrades?

VW recommends 10K oil changes to make money on repairs and new cars IMO. Even before my APR tune, I changed oil and filter every 3K (miles) and only pushed it to 5K once. It makes a big difference in longevity regardless of tuning, but if you add power, it's a must. My first car was a 2000 B5 passat and it lasted well into 200K miles due to the regular maintenance. By the way, about the oil change, you could not have been more worng. 5-6K km oil change is good when using mineral oil from 25 years ago. With full syntech oil, you can hit something like 10-12K KM. You should definately send your 5-6K km oil change sample to a lab and make them analyse it, asking them for how long you could have still use it. You'd be surprised. PS : i don't know about you, but i don't know anyone who went back to any dealer to get their engine replaced when they blow it..... and if it's under warranty......well it's under warranty ! =) PPS : you're about to hit 50K KM......Begin thinking about doing carbon cleanup on your intake valve @ about 60K

Dany Durand thanks for the comment, all my maintenance is up to date. Valves are cleaned. And I think i’ll stick with my 5-7K rule. I like to keep my engines running in tip top shape. Especially when driving them hard. That being said, BMW recommends 20k oil changes. Why do you think all the engines wear out prematurely? I don’t believe in 15-20k oil changes and I never will. 8k max under normal driving

@SKYLINERAIDER084 жыл бұрын
Arber Ndreu I have the stage 1+ from unitronic. Night and day difference. I don’t recommend APR if your using the car for daily driving. The power band is all in the top end versus the unitronic it’s midrange convenient for daily driving if your not red lining every gear day in and day out go unitronic. Not bashing APR because they do have great products for racing applications, but a very high percentage here in Dallas that have APR tunes end up sending a rod towards Space X. But your choice but, into the amount of complaints people have with APR not taking responsibility for blown engines. A lil research goes a long way.
