Great information! You know I prefer eurodyne simply because I do it myself, but if I didnt. I'd be with APR.

Everyone always keeps telling me go EQT for my 2019 GLI, but I can’t justify spending so much for an AP along with the tunes and dsg unlock. Plus eqt and their fan base all day other tunes run terrible and idk what to believe. I’m just trying to get a stage 1 Ecu and dsg tune. I’m between IE, APR, Unitronic, and maybe EQT. I want my car to stay just as reliable since it’s my daily driver but I want some more power. What do you suggest?

Very helpful knowledge. Thanks for sharing. I can’t count how many times I’ve seen your name in forums, always in a positive light. But this is the first video I’ve seen of yours. I’m currently running APR stage 1 with their TCU tune also, have a K&N drop in with the removal of the snow guard and a neuspeed fmic. I have a Cobb ap with EQT stage 2 loaded and a IE catted downpipe being shipped to me currently. Once I install the downpipe and flash the EQT stage 2, can I keep the Apr TCU tune? Or would you recommend against that?

Brand to brand TCU compatibility is kind of a personal preference thing apples to apples, but the tunes written for stage 1 may not increase clamping force enough for a spicy stage 2 ECU tune. The safe bet would be to switch your TCU file, with either tuner to give the headroom for the torque of your new ECU tune

Great video!!! Question I'm stage 2 Giac (I know smh great tune people sleep on them) want to go stage three + mk7 GTI non pp. I want the efr 7163 borg warner and supporting modes ie..fueling, intake manifold but not the apr kit. Is that possible who would tune that? Or is it easier to just eqt xl and call it a day. Is it worth the hassle will the performance, reliability be better? Thanks again!!!

@@Chris-qq1yq check out the TRX kit from PAG PARTS, it’s a Garret GTX that bolts right on. As for tuning, you’d have to ask them for recommendations but it uses the OEM DV & WG unlike APR which makes things easier/better

I hear APR is a bit underperforming with their IS38 tune? Your thoughts on that?

That’s what I’m personally running and the car pulls great. I’ll have 1/4 mile time at the end of June, but it’s night and day quicker than when I was APR stage 2 and it trapped 111mph on the 1/4 then. I’m estimating it’ll trap 115mph now, based on how it walks away from 392, 5.0, ect

@@BaunPerformance Good to know. Thanks! Right now just on a JB4 just had my IS38 from FCP installed yesterday lol 👍. I've ran 13.1 @ 108 with JB4, dp, fmic and e30. Putting off a flash as I have a 6 year factory warranty but maybe Yolo soon lol.

Why exactly do you say Uni is way down on power? My friend's golf R ran a 11.9 quarter mile with Uni stage 2 tune, the number seems not too bad

Because it is down on power compared to other tunes, R’s run similar numbers on Jb4 & zero bolt ons

@@BaunPerformance My car makes 340 whp, does not seem too bad. But does not matter anymore I am getting a eqt turbo and a costume tune😁

@@victorchen8484 numbers wise in black & white Unitronic is one of the most expensive & provides the least significant gains vs other tuners. You’ll definitely enjoy the extra 100whp with EQT Vortex

Standard housing with a HPFP upgrade on 91 or 93 octane. 420-450whp Or, if you’re going big with MPI, LPFP, and have access to e85 I’d say go for the XL and you can make 470-500+whp. Big price difference in supporting mods, but you can run either housing drama free with either fueling (those are just my recommendations).

Skipped them MAP and 5150. In my opinion EQT is the way to go via Cobb AP.
