Like you said the ecu learns. So there’s no problem ripping it without a tune. It’s not like a subie. You can even drive with the downpipe without a tune but it’s not the best

@@Smeedia yeah it’s a great platform. Even for like a new Intercooler it’s doesn’t change anything. It also has much more failsafes than subies. I had a 2019 wrx fbo and the R makes soooo much more power easily. They have super low drivetrain loss. My R has like 420 crank hp and I gap like 500hp crank subies

i literally just traded mine in with an IE closed carbon fiber intake, revo catted down pipe, cts bov, cts tmb, dkm stage 3 twin disk clutch, full vwr dampener kit, apr sway bars, bfi shift knob, boost guage, baun fmic, and some other odds and ends

Haven't tried it without the cover but can co firm there are 0 rattles with this set up 🙏 I did notice the cover made it feel more secure

I have the same intake on my car. Love it. IE is a great choice. If you have easy access to E in your area I would go for their new flex fuel kit. When are you planning to upgrade the clutch?

Is it absolutely necessary to remove the spark plugs in order to attach the turbo elbow? I know IE includes that process in their instruction. But I e seen other videos where other name brand turbo Elbows were installed without even touching the spark plugs. Just curious.

It definitely has the fun factor to it but the Raw feeling is a little muted compared to the STI. The STI is a VERY mechanical feeling car in comparison. But I think the R is a better daily driver for bang for your buck fun and usability

Please replace the pvc box when you do the valve cover. It's a huge failure point. Also not to expensive. But is known to blow the seals out

Definitely dont have to remove any of the harness or anything else you did to swap the turbo elbow. Takes me less than 5 mins to swap one. Nice video tho!

Atta boy!!!! IE is, in my opinion the tits! I installed stage1 high torque and tcu tune (dsg), on my 18 R. Such a difference, literally every aspect is better than stock. I can't wait for you to do the dp. That's my next step, I'm sure going from stock to stage2 is going to make you giggle just a little bit. Keep up the great work 👍!

Something dumb that helps increase turbo noise but also will reduce under hood temps is removing that big rubber seal that seals the back of the hood line. My 7.5 sounds better and temps are slightly better.

@@Smeedia Its just a much better ECU that can adjust for a variety of factors without a tune...basic boltons to really enjoy the car are going to be an intercooler(stock location replacement), downpipe and a stage 2 tune. Intake doesnt make much difference but looks nice and adds to sound for sure, and these cars really do like ethanol....A LOT. Stage 2 e30(downpipe+ic only) cars put down 380-90whp.
