Hi there, no I didn't and thus put the old lights back. :-( Very sad to do so but those covers are, I think, important and I didn't want to keep the back of the lights open. I must say I did drive with LED lights for a few days and man are they impressive. One thing though was the high beam, I tried a number of different brands but could not get one to fit. You can even get a kit but still battled. If you can find those covers somewhere in SA please let me know.

I was looking for the LED H7 upgrade too for my wifes 2017 Fiesta MK8 (here in Germany). But according Osram and Philips release list the led version is only allowed for the mirror type frontlight E4 25168. For the lense type light E4 25170 is no releases available up to now (okt 23) and the fitting is not possible, may by the missing space for the bigger bulbs. Also the bigger caps are not available at Osram or Philips. It seems, that you install a bulb (from a China market place) with no release by national registration authorities.

@@rocudi Dir ist aber bewußt, dass Deine ABE erloschen ist und im Falle eine Unfalles die Versicherungsleistung für ein nicht zugelassenes Fahrzeug verweigern kann oder je nach Unfallhergang (Nachtunfall) Dir vorsätzliche Verkehrsgefährdung angelastet wird, auch wenn dies (auch mir) abwegig erscheint. Bussgelder und alle 2 Jahre Lampen raus und wieder rein wegen TÜV kommt hinzu. Jedem Prüfer wird die Lichtfarbe am Prüfgerät auffallen müssen da die Fernlichter immer noch gelbliches Halogenlicht sind. Ergo erfolgt Abgleich mit der Zulassung für die 25170 und dann fährst Du erst mal wieder ohne Plakette nach Hause und er muss Dir die Weiterfahrt untersagen und die fehlende Betriebserlaubnis der Zulassungsstelle melden. Für eine Stilllegung noch auf dem Platz reicht es wohl nicht da keine unmittelbare Gefahr wie z. B fehlende Bremsleistung besteht. Aber der Ärger steht ins Haus, da umgehend das Amt kommen wird und das Autokennzeichen entsiegelt. Unabhängig davon. es wäre doch wünschenswert, dass Osram bzw. auch Philips die Nachrüstleds so gestalten könnte, dass sie für jeden Scheinwerfer der H4 oder H7 Licht im Fahrlichtbereich passen ohne die aufwendigen Einzelfreigaben. Habe jetzt in dem Fiesta die Halogen +200 drin und meine Frau meint die Ausleuchtung nach rechts ist doch auch damit schon besser. Ich fahre eine neuen Dienst Focus mit LED und da ist ein vergleich nicht mehr möglich. Das ist einfach eine andere Lichtqualität.

Ich habe die Metallarretierung von den LED abgedreht, diese in die original Kunststoffhalterung gesteckt, in den Reflektor gedreht als wäre eine Glühlampen drin und dann habe ich die LED in die nun verbaute Metallarretierung gesteckt und im Uhrzeigersinn gedreht bis sie eingerastet ist. Die 75mm Kappen gibt es bei einem großen Onlinehändler der mit A anfängt. ;-)

Ja, richtig. Diesen Arretierring mit der Nase dran kann man abdrehen. Den in das Kuststoffteil stecken wo sonst die H7 rein kommt. Das zusammen wie sonst auch mit der H7 am Reflektor montieren. Die LED steckt man dann einfach rein und verdreht sie im Uhrzeigersinn bis es nicht weiter geht. Aber die Staubschutzkappen solltest du dir vorher bestellen.

I found that once I installed them, its too tight against the two small pipes and metal work. I had to move the pipes and leave the caps off. Did you have the same problem.

I've had my kit maybe 12 months, and decided to have a go fitting it today, but come across same problem. With the 75mm caps supplied, you can't get the headlight back in correct place as it's hard up against the metal seam . Did you get a resolution to this problem?

Upgrade to led lights are on my to do list. one question i have is.... Are these lights road legal. I don't really want to go to the expense of £60 - £80, to find they are the reason for an MOT Failure. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello, I have a big problem with my Ford Fiesta MK8 I am trying to install these exact bulbs too. My LED's from Autobeam didn't come with this clip you mention they supply, and the LED's will not slot into the existing halogen clip. Please can you help? Thanks

Tried to fit it today on a bog standard MK8 fiesta. I have the same headlight port as you. But the led wouldn’t fit in the clip. Cant find the ones you had. Gonna order the pieces i think i need and see. But i cant find the auto-beam clips you used.

Is the LED fan cooling sufficient within the rubber cap for longer trips? I've already had a headlight unit replaced because the the plastic around the bulb melted :(

Nice vid mate!. Do you have issue with whining noise from the leds cooling fan of the leds.. I got a similar product from ceuk. This was mainly heard when car was at a stand still or as I turned ignition off.. Sent them back in the end as it was bugging me.

The h1 does fit but has to be placed in using the dipped beam hole for you to get the right angle for the full beam
