Loving the longer form content and thoroughness in the installations. As a Mk8 GTI owner, I appreciate it immensely with how complicated these cars can get. I personally will be installing lowering springs in the coming weeks and this video will be the first I watch when i hit a roadblock!

Good vid! I remember doing dog bone mounts and bushings on my '11 VW CC and its scary doing it in a driveway trying to put the bolts in correctly making sure it doesn't strip. Once I tightened and threaded correctly by finger, went in immediately with my impact. Looking to get into a golf R 7.5 soon

I wouldn’t stress the threads. Every single nut and bolt you removed is one-time use anyway. You added a few steps to the front swap but not bad overall. The bit you used for the axle bolt is a triple square/zxn. If there are only two bolts you replace, make them the axle bolts. They aren’t even remotely tight enough

So much extra work that isn’t necessary. I’ve done springs on 5 of these MQB cars, most recently my RS3. The brakes don’t need to come off. Once you use the spreader tool in the lower strut mount it slides out. The spring compressor isn’t necessary for reinstalling the new springs. You mentioned that the top hat position doesn’t matter but it most certainly does. The factory ones have arrows that point to the front and rear of the car. I don’t know that the 034 does or not. I mean it worked so that’s great for you but a two hour job became a 3 hour job from the looks of it.

I did most of these installs on my S3. Also did the LCAs, front subframe locking collars, rear shock mounts, and the front and rear sway bar w/end links. Front sway bar will improve the handling even more. MQB chassis likes the front sway bar. New top mounts combined with the subframe inserts removed the creaking and clunking of the suspension. Subframe lockdown will also improve performance of the sway bars since the bars are attached to the subframe. You going to do rear trailing arms or anything else besides the sway bars? I love all the suspension upgrades. car feels great and a lot more fun to drive confidently. I put 235 tires on mine with a larger sidewall, helps fill up some of that gap, along with 15 mil spacers rear, 10 in front.

For the doggone insertes, I think the awd mqb cars suffer from a lot less vibrations for some reason. I have a 2020 S3 and granted yes, it's maybe a bit more refined than a golf r of the same year but I barely feel any vibrations from the dogbone inserts. I have a bit of a different setup with the 034 density line engine and trans mounts, stock dogbone and just the lower insert. Want to throw the upper insert in as well now to see if it make a noticeable difference.

I don’t care if there is more personality or about your lifestyle in general, I get you want to evolve beyond a car content creator, but at least 50% of this video has nothing to do with modifying cars and that’s literally the title of the video! They dont really feel much stiffer if at all than stock, just SLIGHTLY lower.. the front end doesnt scrape much around my house with the front lip even. Its been pretty stress free.
