@@hello-4503 i think the only pc component that a virus can destroy are your drives and if the virus is really potent it could also destroy your motherboard. I haven't heard of a virus destroying the processor, gpu and rams. In your case you could never get to backup your files and the only solution is have a clean installation of windows. @Tray if there is any that is a bit scary but i haven't experience something like that and hopefully will never experience it. Also i doubt that this is possible since motherboard bios are different from each manufacturer and there is no way a virus could download the latest bios for a specific motherboard, run it and shut itself down to destroying the motherboard. Plus i don't think flashing bios using your boot drive is possible, it needs to be in a specific usb port (with "flash bios" indication) to update a bios at least for the motherboards of 2021

Very important: I just had this problem and even more lot of times the pc was starting but no display at all, sometimes boot loop. I checked the cpu and I noticed there was some green plasticky residues on the contacts pads, I removed them with a needle and this probably solved the problem. I say probably because I did this few minutes ago but I believe it will work fine now because every pin on the cpu has different functions and those residues were probably causing current interruptions between cpu and motherboard.

hey I just swapped my psu recently (evga 750w to Thermaltake gf3 1000w) along with new gpu installation (for 4090 install) and then later some ssds (m2 and sata SSD). My mobo is aorus z690 pro on f21 with 12700kf; Kingston fury 5200 32gb. The PC has been shutting off fine with previous psu and has been working for about 2 weeks with new PSU before the latest installation of new hard drives. However, after I turned off everything to install the new m2 and SSD, my PC has been having shutdown issues. The issue: my PC constantly turns back on after shutting down (shutdown /p, front panel etc) (double checked f_panel connections). I've turned off all the fast boot/wake on lan software things and it still boots up after a shutdown. I can still put PC to sleep and but the only way to shut off PC is holding the front power for 5s. I've tried removing all peripherals (usbs etc) and booted into safe mode and nothing helps - the PC just turns on after shutting down. Otherwise, the PC works fine and there are no issues at all. What else can I do to troubleshoot? Is it really a psu issue or perhaps mobo/and or front panel? I am running out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

if you're in windows 11 that is the issue since it has a lot of graphics issues. if you're in windows 10 try to DDU the current gpu driver kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaese5uZrb-HqaM because this might have something to do with the previous gpu driver. now if the problem is the same after doing so this might have something to do with the new psu. check it by using one of these kzbin.infoYrC3PlflLq0

If reseating the ram doesn't work use a screwdriver, make sure the power supply is still plugged in but turn the switch off, press the power button a few times to make sure its off. Hold the screwdriver on the 2 pins sticking out where it says CMOS on the motherboard usually on the lower right or left for 15 seconds then try to turn it back on. Hello, is it possible that i bought a faulty pc because this is my very first pc and its been like this since I got it and I thought it was normal. when my friend came over he said its not and that to get it fixed. my pc restarts on its own maybe about every 5 hours its on but sometimes more or less
@MacCoyzkie
@MacCoyzkie 3 жыл бұрын
yes that's not normal. The only thing i could think of first is the cpu or gpu might be reaching it's temperature limit. You said it only happens after 5 hours, that is plenty enough to make the cpu or gpu overheat when both heatsink are not working, it's not common for gpu but i think it is your cpu(processor) temperature is getting to high causing the automatic restart. To check the temperature use msi afterburner, just run the software and you will see your gpu and cpu temperature. Idle must not be more than 60c, on heavy load must not be more than 90c

Hey my pc has been rebooting but only when it is on idle or using very low resources. I have tried replacing the PSU and RAM and it has not worked and I have tried putting it in a different room which hasn't worked either. When I go to event viewer it tells me "Critical Event ID 41" and the detail logs will be filled with a bunch of 0s. I am not sure what to do now because I don't really want to replace any more parts unless I absolutely have to. I also have already tried reinstalling windows
@MacCoyzkie
@MacCoyzkie 2 ай бұрын
this is a power issue, if you already replace your psu then its not likely the problem but i suspect its low power draw from your outlet or at least the house has power fluctuation. are you using ups or avr? if you are using extension cable try to use a different one to check

i would assume that the front panel IO might be faulty, because even if you jumble the connections of the power button/reset button etc, it will never break the motherboard. I placee the gtx970 back in it because in my old pc, downclocking it with msi afterburner worked to solve the crash. But now the pc decides to crash and restart on its own with a kernel power error. if it worked in the repair shop then there is something wrong with the electrical power in your house. Your ups needs to be 30% or more higher than the devices you'll plug into it, less the result will be the same. @@Mrjadoo-ol8bn the utilization fluctuates depending on the workload. Cooler master psu calculator gives you and idea but that is not stable. If you want to include your monitor/s or other devices other than the pc in the ups then you need more va. Btw was there a electrical power problem at your house?

I have 2 questions if you can answer: is it possible to restart a ram that makes the PC restart continuously or is it to be thrown away? Then, if I buy a ram, does it have to be the same as the others or can it be of a different brand? (Ddr3 mhz1333)

no problem, before throwing your old ram try it with other compatible pc first, if problem persist then it is really broken. It doesn't have to be the same manufacturer but you have to check your motherboard manual for compatibilities regarding the speed and ddr3 support. If im not mistaking the fastest ddr3 is cheap nowadays assuming your motherboard is compatible with it

@@MacCoyzkie ok, thanks for the reply first of all. my motherboard is a H55M-UD2H not really a very good pc, but it is enough for the games I do. 😅I just have to take 2 ram of 2 gb, I already have 2 inserted corsair from 1600mhz (1333 was the one that reads from the pc, I was wrong) and I miss 2. (it has 4 slots). do you know of the ram, possibly cheap and good, even 2 4gb? from what I see, the price for 2 of 4gb is not that high compared to 2 of 2gb, I just need to get to 8 so either one or the other is fine for me

It’s so weird my pc restarts randomly Unless I’m playing a game then it stays on just fine. I don’t know if that means anything, it’s just odd to me. I have replaced power supply that didn’t work. I have taken ram out and put back in(I haven’t tried the eraser thing which I will do today) I have checked for overheating as well. Anyway thanks for the video I will try all of the options in the video that I haven’t tried yet and see if I can fix it. I’m praying it’s not a motherboard issue! 🤞

i think your pc is fine even with your old psu, also it's weird that restarts happens on desktop tasks. This is just a theory but there might be a random program on your system tray or start up that is running that is causing the restart after update or something. This happened to me long time ago and i just simply disable then uninstalled. try checking your task manager>processes and see if there is any program causing so much use of your cpu/memory/gpu

Mac Coyzkie thanks for the reply. I will try that and see if possibly it is just a program causing a high cpu usage. But yea I agree it’s very odd lol.

Mac Coyzkie sadly it’s not the temperature, it doesn’t even reach 70 whenever I try to play cod however tho i did put a framerate limit and that somehow fixed the issue but i still think there’s something wrong with my motherboard because i just brought my 2000 dollar pc and it hasn’t been a week yet since all the parts arrived

Hello, i tried all of these tricks and it didnt seem to work. I have a windows 7, 2gb ram pc. I was playing some games on my pc, then my pc hit 80 °c. I went to restart it but when i was restarting it a black screen appeared. I waited for some time but it didnt go away so i just pulled the cable. Then i didnt open it for a few hours being scared that my pc died. Then i tried to open it and its on an infinite reboot loop. I have a video on my channel about that. Im assuming its because of a virus i downloaded. Is there some way to fix it? If so, could you PLEASE tell me?

yep that is definitely something to do within software stuff. Try clearing cmos first and here's how to kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWrLqniGiauFZ5I and if it still doesn't work this might be difficult to fix. If you are using ssd as boot drive try to remove any other drives and just leave your ssd and boot your system. My other theory is that you got a very old hdd in your pc and that is the one causing the boot loop. happened to me many times too. This may not be applicable to you if your are using your hdd as boot drive and if that is your case i think i got no more tricks for it other than reinstalling windows completely

Wether or not I get a response, I dont know but worth the shot. Had this problem where suddenly my pc shut itself on, even did the "shutting down" screen. Turned it back on, and after a little while of running again it turned off again. Then, it did the constant off and on rebooting. I talked with a friend who is pretty knowledgeable about computers and he came over to check it out. Long story short, we checked a few different things eventually resulting in taking out one of the ram sticks, then swapping to check the other which got the computer to boot up normally. Used it for some time, updated and played a couple games and everything seemed okay, so figured maybe one of the ram sticks wasn't good. Came home from work today and noticed the ssd light was on which isn't normally on when the computer is powered off normally which I did the night before. So, back to square one, I searched and found this video. Tried the first few steps and after seeing the bit about cleaning the ram sticks I figured that made sense as messing with them seemed to make a difference previously. Did that, tried both at the same time, 1 at a time and swapping them 1 at a time and still no progress. Curious if anyone maybe sees this comment if they could have anymore input as to what other thing to try. I can still check other components but I'm quite positive based on what happened previously, it has something to do with the ram. Thanks in advance for any comments

if you already clean the ram sticks the way it was suggested in the video and still doesn't work, i suggest try those ram sticks in your friend's pc and see how it goes. If it worked normally after some tests then this could be a motherboard ram slot issue, maybe hardware or it just needed dust cleaning. Obviously if your friend's pc with your ram sticks didn't work then that could be your ram sticks.

@@MacCoyzkie UPDATE: Ordered a power supply test kit to try to do what i can before assuming an expensive part is a problem and buying it without knowing for sure. plugged it in and all numbers seemed good. plugged the 24 pin cable back in and tried starting the computer again. started fine. about 30 minutes later it shut down (with shut down screen and all) and went back to the turning itself on and off as was happening before. so, did the same process again, plugged the 24 pin into tester, numbers were good, plugged the 24 pin back into motherboard and it started normally again. so, my question now, is do we think that would be a cable problem, a connection problem, or maybe a motherboard issue, as i no longer think it is the power supply or ram sticks.
@MacCoyzkie
@MacCoyzkie Жыл бұрын
@@devinem24 if there is anything it is the motherboard or you could also consider outlet power if you had power fluctuation in your area. since we already come to this, can you try testing out the pc without the case? i mean place the motherboard on its box and test it all outside the case because this might be shorted inside the case
