It's the same defense people are using in politics, right now. Just saying...
@Dij789718 сағат бұрын
My main issue with this situation is that, if this was someone like David Dobrik, the Paul brothers, or Aiden Ross people wouldn’t care *THIS* much. I think when it comes to the “others did worse” comment, it’s meant to point out that yes what he did was wrong but why weren’t fans holding their problematic favs accountable for similar actions. I remember David Dobrik making a video of a car speeding to jump a steep hill and sooo many people were praising him for how “cool” it was. There’s even a video of someone else doing this speed jump and CRASHING into several cars on the street. I don’t remember if the crash was with David and co, but the point is still the same. Those actions were just as bad, if not worse, but those white creators didn’t get called out as much or in trouble the way they should have in comparison to this black creator. It seems more common for black creators to be called out and dragged for doing something vs their white counterparts. And if the black creator tries to defend themselves or apologize it’s brushed off. I’ve seen this happen so many times over the years that it’s just…. It feels like as a black person you can’t win no matter how hard you try. These content creators are constantly doing some wild shit that would not fly if they were black. Some of them are waaay more chaotic than others but they’re not being held accountable for their actions the same way. @Xentrolis17 сағат бұрын
@@Dij7897 Everyone that you mentioned has come under fire. You just don't think it's been severe enough because you don't like them, so when someone you like comes under fire, it feels unfair. Something else to keep in mind is that people like the Paul Brothers have zero remorse or motivation to do better or be good people, so all of the hate is just attention that they crave (all attention is good attention to them). After the first few times they came under fire, the world learned this and decided to not make *as* big of a deal out of future things...though if you'll notice, they are still getting a lot of shit (CryptoZoo was practically yesterday - the dust from that still hasn't settled). With MKBHD, I believe that he is not a genuinely bad person, and expect better from him, so part of it is that the outrage over his bullshit hasn't run its course yet like it has for the others, the other part is that the recklessness and attempt to cover it up feels like a betrayal because people expect him to be better than the Paul Brothers. I'm not against the level of outrage here. Ultimately, this will blow over in a few days, he'll continue to be successful, and hopefully won't do anything like this again. I think the response needs to be big to hold successful people accountable. Marques is reaching a level of success that can corrupt a lot of people - his apology was decent, but the attempt to cover it up in the first place makes a lot of people feel like he wasn't sorry about the action, he was just sorry that he got caught. And stuff like that is usually how the corruption starts
@Juliabulia440416 сағат бұрын
@Dij7897 The difference is that most of those youtubers have bad reputations overall. The reason they appear to have less criticism is because their core fanbase is pro being irresponsible. Everyone you've mentioned receives loads of criticism, you just won't see it from their fans.

@JasonMirandaКүн бұрын
Not really. I've seen videos of countries around the world celebrating Trump's election victory, from the UK to France to Japan and even Sweden!!! Ill tell you one thing though... During the NATO summit, we WERE the laughing stock... considering that world leaders were annoyed and visibly frustrated at Biden's moments. They were sad that HE was the one representing the US. So many of the outside media in Mexico, Japan, and Germany, they would laugh at Biden and his moments such as the one everyone remembers "Ladies and gentlemen, president Putin..."

Not to be rude, but how do you know that you're "black" or whatever that is? Like, is it just based on everyone else telling you that you are whatever that is? You may not be so totally blind, but in the case of people with no vision or visual input since childhood, they would have an amazing and unique or rare way of understanding what "black" is, and I'm curious about that or what that would be or how the mind would process and understand that term and what people say about it and relate to it and those claiming to be such and how they represent themselves and are represented when their physical attributes which is what seems to mainly be what the term relates to are eliminated from the understanding.

I thought keeping factories out of neighborhoods was what zoning was for. It's like everyday we learn nobody actually follows any of these supposed rules the government is supposed to be in charge of. Why do they get salaries again?

I live in a residential area, right across from a school in fact, and we have a lot of issues with cars speeding through because we are in between two major roads and the residential road goes straight through. Its bothers my family because of the dangers it poses to children, not only walking to and from school, but after school hours if one of the kids runs into the road and a driver doesn't see them. Going 97 mph is unacceptable, but I do agree that he shouldn't be getting this much criticism if others doing similar stupid and dangerous stunts are not being held accountable to the same level.
@stardustbunny4570Күн бұрын
I kindly disagree. Everyone should be getting the same amount of criticism. The more the better. Even if some get less than others, we should strive to put more pressure on these kinds of people rather than LESS. MKBHD seems like the type of guy (or so I thought) that'd listen to criticism, which makes it all the more important that his fanbase put pressure on him. For the Logan Paul BS, everyone's been shitting on him HEAVILY for years, the difference is - he doesn't care. Let's hope MKBHD does.

Hegseth wants to take Women out of combat roles, and opposes DEI in the military. Not only do people actually familiar with the military know there is a recruitment shortage, but also that scrapping DEI efforts will discourage enrollment even further. We should make sure he isn't an agent of US adversaries.

dont attribute to malice what is more easily attributable to incompetence, hegseth did not think that statement through beyond 'women should be at home' and will probably blame lacking recruitment on 'weak men not doing their part' or something because cause and effect is clearly beyond his comprehension though if we have to close overseas bases because of his delusional ideology i suppose that is a fine silver lining
