S tier are overturned defensive characters (Steve, Sonic, MinMin), overturned offensive characters (GnW, Kazuya) and overturned neutral monsters (Fox, Aegis). A tier is mostly the neutral monsters (Diddy, Lucina, Palutena) because this game has 30 of them and they are relatively interchangeable, whereas the offense and defense of the S tiers makes A tier less consistent.

Honestly Kirby does have some good strengths but I think he has too many big weaknesses to be high tier I think he should be like mid tier. He's so slow in the air so despite him having a bunch of jumps he's pretty easy to just keep hitting him in the air and off stage.

He also has natural QOL buffs (I guess I misspoke about him being nerfed in every way) that everyone else had with his aerials compared to smash 4 so he has less landing lag, which in turn gives him more mixup options, and then he can play the keepaway game.

Like to make them functional at top level you have to significantly outplay your opponent because their damage comes from stray hits that don’t really set up into one another, or combos starting off of one of the worst projectiles in the game imo

It's crazy because they have such good killing moves, but there's nothing that forces people to get hit by them, and then their mobility and frame data is bad so if you can kinda just get in on them it's hard to get that space again as the corrin player.

the incin bit is mostly true but your forgetting that literally any character with projectiles shuts him down completely. incin vs samus is borderline unwinnable for incin. he's too slow to deal with camping in any capacity and it doesn't matter how many revenges he gets because he can't use them. Incin is busted until you realize that to win all you need is to play slowly and defensively and he just becomes invalid. he just loses too many matchups to be high tier.

Incin main here and I actually think he can deal with zoning, still a hard matchup but if you use revenge well and control space above you with up air you can actually force characters like Samus to either interact with you up close or retreat to the ledge which is a super beneficial position for him. The issue is if you guess wrong especially against someone like Samus you are gonna get grabbed or lose all your stage control and it’s back to square one again. Honestly so many of my sets are lowkey carried by the fact that people are too scared to interact with me when I have revenge and I just exploit that for free stage control which is super valueble on a slow character. I think most Incins get pretty desperate when they have revenge so maybe that’s why they like to stay away so they can like punish me for overextending but I’m more than happy taking the stage or stopping a jump with up air lol.

@@HIIMROSS777 I also main incin, and while these concepts work in some cases, I am convinced that samus on battlefield is unwinnable because the thing is, she doesn't have to approach you. she can camp under a platform the whole match and you do not have any options of approach that she cant cover or punish. too slow to go head on, cant go from behind because you get grabbed or worse she rolls away and starts over on the other side, and the only option your left with is taken because of the platform above her. against zoners like olimar sure incin wins by a landslide, even young link is not bad because he's eventually gonna have to approach to kill you. but with samus she never has to approach, unlike incin who has to.

I stopped playing ryu because in smash ultimate they made that one change where all fighting game characters automatically faced their opponent. It makes me misinput sometimes and if id like to do the same things i used to do in smash 4 then I'd have to take a couple more steps just to do it. Like, Back Air for example. I cant do it unless i manually turn around because Ryu is always facing the opponent. Now i have to manually turn him around if i want to do a Back Air. Sometimes I try to do a Tatsu and Shoryuken but the opposite move always comes out. It's just not fun anymore. Smash 4 had it right, i dont know why they had to change it like this. At least give us the option to toggle this feature on or off.

Exactly. He won so many majors with that character and even after players learned the MU he still consistently made great results. Byleth is high tier. No other character did that. Heck, Leo's Joker wasn't even as dominant.

steve and kazuya needs nerfs not just because they're broken, because obviously kazuya isnt the most broken character like steve is, but because theyre top 5 and they dont even feel like smash bros characters steve with his walls and being able to change hte stage, kazuya with his ToD's and no hit stun, they just dont fit into the game
