Thanks for showcasing Elemental Solstice and Bouncy Cheddar Raceway (although I wouldve personally put vertex cave in the video instead of bcr)! Great video as always! Btw the animations for elemental solstice were made about 1 year before the competition, bear just never released the track they were made for. Since we were allowed to use animations from other tracks as long as we had permission (which we obviously did) we were able to use it for the track

A lot of great tracks this month, i don't like the gameplay of Midnight Museum that much but the visuals are amazing. Elemental Solstice is a pretty cool track, people doesn't seems to know that the cave is based on Agartha from Origins, a Black ops 2 map. I really like that you don't just showcase the tracks but also talk about them, history, changes, gameplay and give your opinion on different aspects.

Damn, I completely forgot about BO2 Origins, I used to play that map a ton on Xbox 360 as a kid. Thanks for reminding me!

Someone got the reference lol, I'm quite surprised by that. Yeah I took heavy inspiration from it, since that was one of my favourite all time maps from those series, and I always played it when I was younger

Gotta say, I'm not a fan of the visuals of Bowser Jr.'s Fort. It just doesn't all mesh well I think. But oh man, that layout! Gameplay-wise it looks like one of the coolest tracks ever. I'd so want something like that made by Nintendo. It'd be so fun to drive.

Great video Justin, I love these series and I always look forward to them! However, there's something that's been really bothering me recently; as a casual player I found it very surprising that Midnight Museum was rejected from CTGP, the layout and gameplay being the main issue stated in its review. I find it odd because, in my opinion, the layout and gameplay aren't nearly as bad as those from other tracks that are already in CTGP. So I wanted to ask you, as someone who plays competitive and is very familiar with the custom tracks scene in general, do you agree with this verdict?
@JustinMKW2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! About Midnight Museum, I am on the CTGP Council and I voted yes to include the track in CTGP personally so yeah I wouldn't exactly agree with the verdict. The thing is a lot of council members are people in the competitive community and competitive CT players thrive off tracks they already know (i.e. tracks that have been in the pack for years). I've caught myself doing this as I've started playing more CT comp again as I just pick the tracks that I already know opposed to the newer tracks that I like more, it's just easier to win if you're used to the track. It's hard to find flaws in CTGP tracks when you grow some accustomed to the flaws in some cases. For example, people somehow complained about the removal of Kirio Raceway a year or two ago. I think if Midnight Museum had a slight upscale and opened up some areas a little more with less ramps into turns, it could probably be accepted, but it'd need more model fixes to put it under "yes with fixes" at that point. I do agree that it's unfortunate that it wasn't accepted this time around, but I'm sure it could in the future if Squire made the model changes that the council wanted to see.
@SuperGilc2 жыл бұрын
@@JustinMKW I understand, It gives a better insight on why it was rejected, and as you say I agree it is unfortunate but at least now I see the reasoning behind it, I'm a very casual player so I was assuming my point of view on the track was heavily blinded due to its outstanding visuals. Thank you for your time to write such an in-depth answer, I appreciate it a lot and cleared a lot of questions I had, keep the awesome work man =)
@k-leb46712 жыл бұрын
Damn it was rejected? God I hate the CTGP standards some times. The pack still has some garbage but they don't accept an awesome track like that? It is quite busy but CTGP is no stranger to that.
@mystora71592 жыл бұрын
@@k-leb4671 Yeah I wish there was another big CT pack that had a bit lower standards but better starting tracks, a bunch of new good tracks and some old ones that still hold up. That would be the ideal CT pack
