TAS run by myself.
Done on Dolphin 5.0 LuaCore with Savestates, TAS Input, LuaScripts and Text Files.
Now the previous record is categorized as No Glitch No Shortcut, which is a different category from this one, but it is still interesting to see where Superhopping gains / loses time over the normal strats through a ghost comparison I guess?
Special thanks to Marth whose trial run inspired me to try to make SHing faster on this track.

XZSped (XZ Speed) on the bottom left shows my moving speed for horizontal axis,
InVel (Internal Velocity) on the bottom right shows my vehicle speed,
and ExVel (External Velocity) shows how much momentum I have for horizontal axis.
Some things about the run
This time I use Zip Zip because of its high dirt performance (#3 among all vehicles) and Daisy because of her speed and mini-turbo bonus.
I had to take a shroom cut in a weird way, this is because Zip Zip doesn't seem to be able to make the u-turn properly by just drifting. Unexpectedly I didn't lose much time on the shortcut, since SHing can be done before the corner and it changes to a better angle for the u-turn.
-SHing in dirt does not mean that momentum (External Velocity) is decreasing, just that the vehicle speed is lower than usual, as can be seen from the ExVel in the lower right corner.
In this run, I often use ±2 inputs on the outside during SHing, this is because it allows me to take a turn tighter and store sideways momentum more than ±7 inputs.
How's Superhopping working?
When you do a spin hop, you receive a bit of sideways momentum on the outside, but it is usually run out just after landing. And with Outside Drifting Bikes (ODBs), by drifting after landing, you can store the sideways momentum you have right before landing to the ground. So by repeating a spin hop and drift on landing with ODBs, you can get a lot of speed.

先日このコースでもSuperhoppingが速いことが分かったので作ってみました。
とりあえず前記録からは1秒更新できたので満足です。
左下のXZSpd (XZ Speed)が、実際に水平方向に出ている速度、
右下のInVel (Internal Velocity)が車速、
ExVel (External Velocity)が水平方向に付いてる勢いを表しています。
InVelとExVelを足したものがXZSpdだと思ってもらえれば大丈夫です。
補足とか
・ポロネーズを選んでるのはダート性能が高いため(全車体中3位・ドリバイだと1位)、デイジーはスピード値・ターボ値が高いため。ダート性能は車体だけで十分なので、キャラは車速が高いのを優先したほうが良い。
・ポロネーズはドリフト性能が悪いので、ショトカは無理やりダートをSuperhopping(以下SH)で進み、向きをできるだけ右に調整してから遅らせてキノコを使ってインを通る。ゴーストとの差を見ると意外とタイムは変わらない。
・ダート中のSHは、右下のExVel(External Velocity)を見れば分かるように、車速が普段より低くなるだけで勢いが減る訳ではない。ドリフトは車速がだいたい44未満になると出なくなるのでその調整は必要。ダート中はカウンターホップ(アウト入力全開のミニジャンプ)をするとだいぶ勢いが減るので、ラインが制限される分 使える場所は限られてきそう。
Superhoppingについてより詳しい補足(TASさん向け?)
・SH中 着地時とミニジャンプを押すフレームでアウトに2をスティック入力をすると、アウトに7(最大)を入力した場合よりも角度をつけて曲がれ、かつより勢いを保持できる。
・0:19や0:28のようにドリフトを途中で切って角度をつけて曲がりたい場合、ドリフトは7fの間入力するが一番曲がれた。これは車体によって異なるかも。
・直進中(長い直線を進むとき等)は、
スピンホップの場合:着地時アウトに2~7、ミニジャンプ時アウトに2、イン入力が1
カウンターホップの場合:着地時アウトに2~7、ミニジャンプ時~着地までアウトに2
が最速になる。
・ミニジャンプ中に下入力をすると、より曲がれてより効率よく加速できた。
上下入力のどちらが適切かは車体、地面の形状によって異なる。

@@lowercaseletters_ nah not rly. plus the track will never ever have an ultra, even outside of time trial mode just due to the fact that the finish line is boxed off by insurmountable walls that can't be bypassed sadly. Even in 10 years this track won't have an ultra, we can only dream

I never thought I would see the day for SNES Mario Circuit 3 to have two categories. All 32 tracks in the game have some game breaking mechanic, such as an ultra shortcut glitch, non-ultra shortcut glitch, supergrinding, and superhopping. Amazing TAS!

yeah this was the one track that made people think "ok maybe it wont work everywhere" since for the past year the superhopping test lap was still a second or two slower than the NG lap

All tracks in the game now have a no glitch category (we got 1/2 in Apr 2008, 3 in Jun 2008, 4 in Jul 2008, 5 in Jan 2009, 6 in Apr 2009, 7 in Nov 2009, 8 in Jul 2010, 9 in Sep 2010, 11 in Jun 2011, 12 in Aug 2011, 13 in Jun 2012, 14 in Jul 2012, 15 in Apr 2013, 16 in Dec 2014, 17 in Jul 2015, 18 in Jul 2015, 19 in Mar 2016, 20 in Sep 2018, 21 in Feb 2019, 22/23/24/25/26/27/28 in Jun 2019, 29 in Jul 2019, 30 in Oct 2019, 31 in Jun 2021, and now 32 in Feb 2023!!!) Also, two things: - How did you finish this so quickly ??? - Someone has to say it, but you could have saved a few milliseconds with the new start slide :p

Is superhopping just like frame perfect firehopping (MK8)? Is it possible we see strats develop to do it for a single turn or straightaway at the start (to save 0.2 or something) in RTA?
