I mean, most MLB teams carry only 2 catchers, so you'd rather they didn't get tossed out of a game in most circumstances. However, the catcher is the player who's most likely to lead your baseball team on the field, because his job is to take command of the pitchers. And a part of that involves fighting to get the tougher calls from umpires. So if catchers do get chased, it's usually to help the pitcher and the team out.
