@@coreymcdonald7745 i mean, if zucker isn't battling for the puck at the backdoor, are you saying ned would have dragged his own ankle (with the puck underneath it) completely over the goal line on his own? and that zucker's stick had nothing to do with ned's pad slide changing direction? honestly, you could be right. watching it again, ned might have flared his own leg into the net at the same time as zucker pushed the pad. in the end, it's a judgment call by the refs whether the contact was incidental or not. nobody's gonna win this debate in youtube comments. but to me, there's plenty of evidence to overturn it for goalie interference under NHL rule 69.1, 69.3, and 69.7 because zucker's contact with ned is anything but incidental, and the rule says non-incidental contact = no goal. you've got all the elements: a player is initiating contact with the goalie, trying to push a puck into the net. the puck is no longer visible because it's caught under the pad. zucker isn't actually touching the puck itself but rather the front face of ned's pad. in that sense, it's very close to the textbook definition of pushing the goalie into the net because the puck is under the goalie.

when the ducks commentators say “I hate the power the officials have to call the unsportsmanlike penalty against Kronen”. As an official myself, there is a fine line to where the coaches, players, staff, and fans need to maintain control of their own emotions and anger. Whether it’s disagreement with a goal or penalty, the rule book has evolved to prevent any abuse of officials as many of us officials can only deal with so much bickering as this can then interfere with us being able to do our job by not being bias or driven by our emotions…

You're a real rocket surgeon. Coach gets ejected in the first period, ref gets run in the second...hmmm... Yeah, that player is gonna get hit with an indefinite suspension while the NHL looks at every single angle of every single camera in the arena. They'll look at body weight distribution, balance, edge contact on the ice...everything. And when they conclude that the hit was deliberate, that player will never step on the ice in an NHL game again. If they find any, and I mean ANY, evidence that the coach may be responsible, he's a lifetime ban too. They'll send a message, real quick. And then you have the lawsuit from the official, against the player and the coach, and quite possibly the team itself. Great idea.

LOL the bruins & flyers are goaltender interference. Got to love how the red wing announcers always play up their failures. Penguins scored & they assume the calls going to be overturned & when it rightfully wasn't they cry foul. There's not enough to show that the Penguins player or stick pushed the leg of the wingers tender enough to put it over the line it looks pretty over the line already when the goal & player/ stick meet fighting for a rebound.

Somethimes you wish teams would do what the Soviets did in the Summit series, refuse to take the ice, if the officiating is going to be so dog shit.

Remember coaches...don't argue calls when you're playing the Penguins...it will NOT go your way and you WILL be thrown out of the game! lol

Eh, winners have historically gotten calls after they win

Just notice what was the common denominator for at least 3 of these calls. Penguins get every call baby

The Zucker clip is just more proof of an anti-Red Wings conspiracy by NHL referees!

There’s no excuse for behaving that way. When they get out of hand like that it should be a game misconduct. When their own players, assistant coaches, and trainers are cringing, covering their faces in embarrassment, or glaring at them to “Shut the heck up” it’s obviously bad. They are highly paid professionals and should act like it. Blowing up and cussing at or threatening the officials serves no purpose; it actually does a lot of harm. It is “Unsportsmanlike Conduct”, it’s often a delay of game or at least a distraction, and a terrible example to everyone, especially kids in the audience or at home. Then their team has to work exponentially harder to make up for their mistakes. It’s akin to players being sore losers by throwing a tantrum and busting their sticks; they supposed to be and can do so much better.

Referrees are like donald john trump : kids who throw tantrums. When zebras suck at their job, they fully deserve to cursed at. But threats are unacceptable.
