Stanton’s injury is by far the worst I’ve seen just because of his reaction. The fact that he didn’t move from the position he was in from the time he fell to the time he’s carted off and out of view. So scary.

I was coaching first during a American Legion game where the opposing pitcher took a line drive to the mouth. He was spitting out blood and teeth in what I can only describe as one of the most grisly things I’ve ever seen in a baseball game. Remember, we used to use -5 aluminum bats back then. I think it was changed to -3 the next year for safety reasons.

Colby Lewis is practically the Stone Cold Steve Austin of MLB. Took a 110 mph fast ball to the back of the head and it didn't even phase him! One tough Son of a Bitch right there!

I don't think stanton was swinging to get a hit or increase his batting average or any of those analytics, pretty sure he was just trying to just make contact so as not to break his jaw (referring back to the fact that stanton did get his jaw broke by a inside pitch earlier in his career ( not a hundred percent sure but I only added this last sentence because I I wanted to put parenthesis inside of parenthesis))🤷‍♂️

In Japanese baseball the pitcher tips his hat to apologize for hitting the batter. It’s his way of letting the guy know it wasn’t intentional.

Are the opposing team members not allowed to go up to the player who got hit? Like the pitcher, would he get in trouble for running up to check on the batter who got him??
