Having no medical training, I'd think he either kicked his legs out in an instinctual reaction to pain, to turn around and get his bearings back, or to try and get to the ball before he realized he got hit.
@NCA_Azzy
@NCA_Azzy 2 жыл бұрын
@@ExoTheFlyingFish Delayed response. The hit completely disoriented him, but in the mind-- it still hadn't even registered being hit. So the seemingly randomly tutning and hat tossing was partially just instincts and part 'wtf just happened'? Crazy part is, it would even take a minuye or even a few to register (mentally) where he got hit. When everything started to come full circle.. he stood still, then lowered to a knee. Everything returns, to a degree, to acceptance. Put of most of these, that one probably didn't hurt nearly as much as the rest as the brain was given enough awareness to partially register what was going to happen. His didn't. It definitely hurt like a mother after that.

For all your assumptions based a Wikipedia article you once read, you sure don’t know what “out cold” means. On top of that, in the incident report, it stated that even though he was concussed, he didn’t lose consciousness. Please leave your diagnoses to the doctors, and not the comments. lol

I actually went to school and have a vague understanding, whereas you are just a loser who wants some likes and thought you'd be clever. I have seen pitchers crying because a foul ball hit a fan and I know they have to feel pretty terrible if they accidentally hit a fellow player by accident but they feel so much worse when a fan is injured one pitcher actually went to the hospital to check on a young girl who was hit by a foul ball that he pitched and his teammates had an autographed ball for her that’s how bad they felt and in a way it’s not their fault because they have no control over where the ball goes after it’s hit and I do think that the major baseball leagues need to consider putting up more nets to catch foul balls to better protect their fans

Differently concussion, what happens when you have a major one like that is that your brain is not focused, you keep blanking out not remembering what happening, which is probably why he was trying to walk than stopped. Because he sorted off remembered where he was but he brain couldn’t keep up. I’ve had two concussion through riding and the first one on the way to the hospital I apparently asked my mum about 5 times what day it was and what happened, I still don’t remember asking the questions.

Believe it or not, the trainers do actually have a good chunk of authority in this regard. Even if a play is going on, if a trainer feels a player may be in a life or death scenario, all he has to do is either look to the center field camera or the scorers booth behind home plate and give this signal. No matter what is happening, this calls a play dead immediately. You could be in the middle of an infield triple, he can stop the play right then and there.

Honestly, I feel as if pitchers should have some sort of face mask as well. It's bad enough to get hit with a 90 miler (trust me), but when it makes contact and returns at about 110-150 )depending on your hitter of course) you need some sort of face protection just in case.

I hit a line drive back at the pitcher once and he was suuuuper lucky it barely clipped the bill of his hat. I felt so bad I almost didn’t finish my run to first. I’d known and played with the guy since I was 11 up into my late teens. Small concussion was all he got I believe. Always scary to watch.

I felt so bad for Stanton when he got hit. It must’ve hurt like hell since he broke his jaw, and had Dental Damage. He was one of the best players on the Marlins, and he would be hitting Homeruns left and right. It’s pretty heartbreaking seeing someone’s season ending right in front of their eyes, and it not being their fault.

Everyone focused on Stanto but that pitcher hit the next guy in the head too , he was shaken up .
@bend4852
@bend4852 Жыл бұрын
@@peterf.229Yep. They should make pitchers at least take some warmup pitches after hitting someone in the head and make them come out if they're too (understandably) shaken up. Obviously the pitcher didnt mean to do it but if you're that shaken up it can be pretty hard to throw a semi accurate pitch and its probably scary for the next batter after something like that happens as well

I do gotta admit, I wasn't expecting as many "random ball bouncing back to the face" shots but, honestly I'm glad there's as many of those in here to lighten off the mood. Especially considering, I was expecting waaaaaaaay too many "pitch to the face" shots that would piss me off as much as football dirty hits... 😩

Just wanted to point out that if you see a player get hit and the ball go flying off into the boonies, that's a good thing. That means that ball still had a ton of energy and kept most of it, and the hit player is probably okay. That's whay made Happ's hit so terrifying. The ball lands at his feet. His head took all of that momentum and energy. Absolutey brutal (and blew out his knee going down, which took longer to heal from than the concussion).
