What ? Arenado much better than Muncy on both sides of the plate. So you believe the left side is still good enough ? Arenado also hits 40 points higher than Muncy and low K rate. You don't even have to trade Max,instead trade that bad contract of Taylor's and add a prospect or two with Cards eating some of Arenado's money. Muncy is just a 2 outcome hitter,walk or strikeout. And he is also on other side of 30 y.o.

Teo is playing games and being skeptical. I personally don’t want guys who don’t want to be a Dodger. He had one year and we don’t know if it’s going to repeat which is why Dodgers don’t want to give him a long term contract and they are right.

The Dodgers are only saying they’re not in on Nolan because they know the Cards are desperate to move him. His contract maybe at 3/$75 but remember that the Rockies are on the hook for $10mil of that bringing it down to $65. Now if the Dodgers play it right and force the Cards to pay say 15-20 of that $65 now that contract becomes more reasonable at say 3/$50. You can move Muncy to 2B or play Nolan at 2B

The reasons are Aranado is from So. Cal., he'd like to play for the Dodgers, has been great in the past and Muncy usually bats around .230. But Muncy's obp is much better than his average and Aranado's numbers are down especially his homers. Imo it doesn't mean he can't hit 25+ homers again. But Max is under contract and his fielding has improved greatly at third. On a mlb trade rumor site it says Arenado would be okay with a trade to the Angels, Dodgers, Padres, Phillies, Mets or Red Sox. The Cards will probably trade him.

Muncy’s defense got better this year but who knows if he can do it again next year. He’s also not the same player. He used to be a Giant killer and the past two years he hasn’t done anything against them. In the post season he was very vocal about those doubting them then did absolutely NOTHING in the WS. He’s always injured now too. Let’s just hope he can stay healthy for one straight season and that his defense stays ok now that Mookie is going to be a SS because that alone is already a huge risk and we sure are going to need elite defense at 3B.

re: arenaldo, 1) his aav is $25.6, 2) $74m owed for 3 yrs, 3) i think the dodgers are at 110% luxury tax for this extra salary. 4) salary + luxury tax = $74m + $25.6m x 110% x 3 = $158.5m for 3 yrs…

@@jsa790 really don’t think Dodgers are concerned about the luxury tax or else they wouldn’t have overpaid Conforto. Not to mention that if they were to trade for Nolan, I’m pretty sure they would be able to mess with his contract and perhaps defer some of his pay.

Trade Lux. Muncy plays 2B and Nolan 3B. When Freddie needs a day off which he will have to because he is getting older and not to mention his recent surgery and injuries, etc. then Muncy or Nolan can cover 1B. Lux sure cannot do that. He’s the odd man out

He has time to get better just like he did last offseason for 3B. Mookie is NOT good at SS therefore Muncy needs to be almost perfect at 3B if they don’t want Nolan.

I tend to think if Lux played any other position it would be 1B. I wouldn't want him anywhere besides 2B but could fill in at first with practice and if Freddie couldn't play.

He’s garbage. Muncy is 30 times better given the offensive production and cheap contract Muncy is on. Muncy also graded out as a decent defender

Muncy also spent most of the season sitting next to Roberts and just suddenly got better when the trade deadline came to avoid getting traded. Let’s not forget that. He did NOTHING in the WS but be a cheerleader to his teammates. No hate on him but stating facts here.

I’m not saying to trade Muncy but you are not wrong. He was no where to be found in the WS💩. He’s also not a Giant killer as he was 2 yrs ago. Went to Oracle park and all he did was strike out. This season all he did was sit next to Roberts during games “injured” and suddenly when the trade deadline came, he miraculously got better. He’s been on Foul Territory a few times and continues saying he’s still not completely recovered from his injury so good luck to us. Let’s just hope he can stay healthy comes 2025 🙏
